The catch is that no one knows who this chef really is. However, the identity of Gurman's closest friend is known - this is a court cook from Markarth named (Anthon Virane). It is located in the Understone Fortress. Talk to him and, threatening the Dark Brotherhood, find out the identity of the Gourmet. After this, an unnecessary witness must be killed. This is best done late at night, when two of his assistants go to the next room to sleep.

Everything is ready to fulfill the contract. Talk to Astrid, who will tell you about your next steps, and also give you a special poison - brazier root. The Emperor has already arrived in Skyrim and is in the Dark Castle of Solitude. It's time to play the role of Gourmet. Go to the castle doors, Maron will be waiting for you there. Show him the letter taken from the Gourmet's body and go inside to the kitchen to cook Gianna (Gianna). You can immediately put on one of the chef's hats lying on the shelves on the left, otherwise Gianna will still ask you to do it. While cooking the dish, she will periodically ask you what ingredients to use, so at the end, do not forget to offer her to throw the poisonous root that Astrid gave you. When everything is ready, go with the cook to the dining room. The hideout in Pine Forest is already under siege, and you'll have to kill a few Penitus Okulatus warriors before breaking through. Fight off the attackers to find at least one of the survivors. Unfortunately, no one but Nazir and Babette can be saved. The task is complicated by the fact that the cave in which the shelter is located is gradually collapsing, blocking almost all the moves. Go to the dining room, where Nazir will already repel the attacks of the guards and help him. After that, you will hear the voice of the Night Mother, who will call you again, but this time to save you. Go to the room with her coffin, climb into it and hug the Mother. The shutters will slam shut, and the collapse will not harm you. A little later, Nazir and Babette will pull out the coffin. The shelter will be almost filled up, burying the bodies of the dead under it.

The Night Mother will speak to you again. She will send you to Astrid, who also miraculously survived and is in the same cave. It turns out that she performed a Dark Sacrament on herself to try to remedy the situation, and is close to death. Take the Blade of Woe next to her body and kill Astrid at her request. So her soul will be forgiven and go to Sithis.

The tomb will have to go through; from it you will find yourself in the Forest Valley - a spacious camp of savages, surrounded on all sides by rocks. It is necessary to cross this camp and enter the next tomb - the Witch's Nest (Hag's End). Witches and fortune tellers will already be waiting for you there, and magic runes will be added to the traps. "Search for Caches"

If you bought a "torture room" from Delvin Mallory during the restoration of the Dark Brotherhood's Dawnstar Asylum, then this will give you a few more additional tasks with a nice reward. In total, there will be four victims of torture in the cell, and, accordingly, there will be the same number of hiding places that they will point to in order to stop the torture.

The bottom line is this: the orphaned boy Aventus Aretino escaped from the orphanage and now performs the ritual of summoning the Dark Brotherhood.

Aretino lives in the same lane - if you open the lock, you will find him on the second floor. He is surrounded by strange objects and pronounces strange words. The boy performs - or thinks he performs the Black Sacrament. Is he really calling for assassins? We'll find out soon! In any case, seeing us, Aretino will decide that we are the "child of the Night Mother."

The boy will issue a task: to kill Grelod the Kind, by no means a kind matron of the Riften shelter. The easiest way to do this is when she is sleeping. Try not to be seen by anyone. In any case, the death of Grelod will wake up the entire orphanage, and you will witness a very funny scene.

Aretino will give out a family plate as a reward and announce that he is about to return to the orphanage (however, in reality, he will not do this and will hang around at home until the end of time).

Shortly after the “contract” of the hero, a courier will overtake him and issue an anonymous message with a handprint and an inscription, the essence of which can be conveyed as “we know what you did last summer.” And having fallen asleep, the hero will wake up already in an abandoned barn, in the company of Astrid and three bound captives with bags on their heads.

Astrid will scold the hero for lynching Grelod and offer an exam to join the Brotherhood. The task is to question the three captives, guess who the contract is for, and kill him. I will not reveal the secret in the text, since it is still impossible to “fail” the introduction with the wrong choice. Just choose and strike.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION: it is possible to override the Dark Brotherhood by attacking Astrid and freeing the captives. In this case, you will only have to find a guard, go to Commander Maron at his suggestion and, after talking with him, arrange a massacre in the shelter. This concludes the theme of the Dark Brotherhood for our hero.

Having told her sad story, she will issue a contract for the robber Alain Dufont, who lives in the Dwemer ruins of Raldbthar, and add that it would be nice to kill Nielsin Shattered Shield from Windhelm at the same time.

You can get to Raldbthar from the north, where a staircase leads uphill. He is guarded by bandit friends, so the task is almost a standard cleaning of the dungeon, and not even all, but only a small part of it. Who else to turn to for the removal of the emperor, if not the Dark Brotherhood? It's familiar!

Upon returning to the shelter, Astrid will meet us and offer to still listen to the Night Mother and go to the Volundrud burial ground to talk with a certain Amon Motierre.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION: do not forget, upon entering Volundrud, to deal with the skeleton sitting on the throne (pretends to be bad!) And pick up the diary to take the side quest "Silence of Tongues".

You won't have to look for Amon Motierre for a long time - turn left and, after passing through the bodies of twice deceased draugrs, open the door. It turns out that Amon attracted the attention of the Night Mother with the help of the Black Sacrament. He will offer a very interesting task: to kill the emperor himself! After receiving a letter and a valuable amulet from an assistant named Rex, return to the shelter.

After talking with Astrid, you will only have to run to Riften, look into the Thieves Guild and find out from the buyer Delvin Mallory what kind of amulet Amon Motierre gave us. It turns out that the amulet is a sign of belonging to the Imperial Council of Elders. Take the receipt from Delvin and return to the shelter. It seems that someone from the Council is involved in a plot against the emperor.

Astrid, having received a receipt, will send the hero to the wedding. To call his majesty Titus Mid II to Skyrim, you need to make a mess. The best way to do so would be to kill his cousin Vittoria Vici, head of the Solitude branch of Eastern imperial company and, by coincidence, the bride. Additional task- kill her at the moment when she will make a speech in front of the guests.

For a character who knows how to hide and who wields a bow, the task will be easy. It is only necessary to make your way along the fortress walls to the place of the wedding, stand up without shining and, when the bride comes out onto the balcony to make a speech, shoot a well-aimed arrow.

You can use destructive spells, and the illusion of rage (on the husband), and melee weapons, and werewolf claws! You can even push a statue from the wall onto the bride's head. But the developers have provided an easy "shooting" way to kill the bride, even for heroes who are not familiar with the bow. To the left of the main entrance to the Temple of the Gods, there is a small door leading to Solitude - to a small balcony opposite where the princess will perform. There you will find a powerful enchanted bow "Firiniel's Death", six elven arrows and a potion of accuracy.

It is advisable not to stay on the balcony, but to climb higher - it is easier to leave from there. Vizara's lizard will cover you, but it's enough to run along the bastions, holding on to the right wall, to get to the city gates.

ADVICE: it makes sense to search the body of the bride for valuable keys and bouffant wedding clothes. But it is quickly removed from the game, and jumping to it immediately after the kill means incurring the wrath of the guards. There is a cunning, bordering on cheating way to get around the problem - at the same moment when the arrow flies into the bride, you need to quickly move to the shelter, turn in the quest and just as instantly return to Solitude.

Astrid will give out a reward and a "daily" talent to summon a ghostly assassin (players of Oblivion should recognize it), after which she will send her to Gabriella for a new briefing.

IT IS INTERESTING: if you take this ghost with you on missions, it will from time to time comment on what is happening in an afterlife voice. The summoning time is not limited - the spirit can follow us until the enemies kill it, and mumble, talking about the old days.

Vulnerable point

As the locals stare at the dragon, Gaius and Commander Maron say their goodbyes in an unabashed manner.

The task from Gabriella sounds difficult: in order to neutralize the bodyguards of the emperor, we must demoralize the head of the guard by killing his son Guy during an inspection tour of the cities. In addition, fake papers must be placed on Guy's body, indicating that he was preparing an attempt on the emperor. It is desirable to do this not on the road, but during one of his stops in the cities - so that the body is quickly found. For this, an additional reward is due - the sign of the seer, with the help of which the hero will receive a side quest for Radiant improved Shadow armor.

The trip schedule can be stolen in the Penitus Okulatus garrison house, but this is also not necessary - you can just wait for the victim in one of the taverns of Skyrim. Or, after looking at the scene of farewell in the village of Dragon Bridge, walk with Guy to the first locality, kill him and plant a "compromising letter" (R by default).

In order for us to get to the place faster, Astrid will lend her horse - the legendary Tenegriv. Sit on it, but Dawnstar, of course, is better to get to by "fast travel".

First we need to find Arnbjorn. He suffered in a fight with Cicero, but he can speak: the werewolf will tell that he wounded Cicero, and will offer, upon entering the Vault, to follow the bloody trail. When the door asks "What is life's greatest illusion?" don't select "Happy Marriage" or "Hmm... well, a trick where a woman is cut in half", but say in an ominous voice "Innocence, my brother."

Inside you'll find Cicero's insane commentary, traps (fire oil behind the tripwire, spikes in the walls) and the sanctuary's ghostly guardians. Pay attention to the jester's clothes on the table and many educational books.

The trail of blood will lead you through a round opening into an ice cave (be careful - bear traps!). Cicero will talk about the fact that someone "forced him to expand", and soon we will see who it is - a hefty troll named Udurfrukt (and this is already greetings from the icy Solstheim).

Behind the wooden door, open the passage to the tomb by pulling the chain. There, rows of coffins and a new batch of ghostly watchmen await us. We open another passage with a chain, and here it is - Cicero. He appears to be out of shape, unable to fight, and will offer to let him live, tricking Astrid. How to be? The choice is not obvious. On the one hand, he really messed up, but on the other... The Mother of the Night is the Mother of the Night, and Cicero is her guardian.

It makes sense to keep him alive, because he may later become our companion. But if you still decide to kill the poor jester, keep in mind that he is not dead, but only pretends and quickly jumps to his feet if you poke him with a sword or try to rob him. But from the body it will be possible to remove an improved set of jester's clothes.

Return to Astrid and lie to her (or tell the truth if the jester is killed by your hand). It's time to advance the "imperial" plot - your instructor this time will be Festus Krex, a grumpy old man.

They talk about an uncovered conspiracy and about Commander Maron - the very one whose son we killed a couple of quests above. Maron himself stands at a distance. He will accept our pass and send it to the kitchen, to the cook Gianna.

Where is this seen - against the Redguard, but fire spells to throw?

Fast travel to the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary will be disabled, so walk to it from Falkreath. The quest will start when you are attacked by imperial agents. Around the cave - barrels of oil, and inside the flames blaze. After eavesdropping on a conversation between two Imperials, you will learn that one of the Brotherhood survived and was driven into the depths of the caves.

You cannot save Arnbjorn. But, breaking through the fire and imperial agents, you will find Nazir. By killing the agent fighting him, you will prove your innocence in a conspiracy against the Brotherhood. But the exit from the cave was cut off. Nazir feels good - he is a Redguard, invulnerable to fire. What should we do? Follow him, and there is a way out - in the sarcophagus of the Night Mother.

Tell Nazir the words of the Night Mother and go to the Prancing Mare Tavern in Whiterun. There we are waiting for an already familiar employer - Amon Motierre. He will tell you that the real emperor is on board the Kataria ship, at the mouth of Solitude Bay, and under strong guard. In addition, it makes sense to kill the commander Maron - he is in the port.

If you are going to kill Maron, start with him - he walks along the bridges in the port and is an easy target.

The Kataria anchored behind the Solitude Rock, and you can get on board the ship along the anchor chain. The security is small (after all, the Brotherhood is defeated, and there is nothing to fear), and it is possible to sneak through the sailors and agents of the Empire. Soon you will come across a door locked with a powerful lock. The key to this door and to the door to the chambers of the emperor can be decorated or removed from the body of Captain Avidius (he lives in a cabin next to the guardhouse).

Oddly enough, the emperor was waiting for us. Before his death, he will ask to kill also the conspirator, Amon Motierre. If you want, do it after talking with him in the "Prancing Mare" and go to Volundrud, where a solid reward awaits us in an old urn (and, most likely, another pretending skeleton at the entrance).

It remains only to go to the Dunstar hideout and, after talking with Nazim, deal with random contracts from the Night Mother and arrange a new home for the Brotherhood.
