This mod replaces the standard map with a new, improved map with beautiful textures and detailed roads. Below are 3 mod options: "Classic map" - standard card with different variations (previous version of the mod), "Clear Map" - a more picturesque, detailed map with an "autumn" atmosphere and "Paper Map" - a map with high resolution and paper textures. IMPORTANT!!! The "Paper Map" map option is for Skyrim only; Solstheim is not included in this option.

The archive will contain 4 folders that correspond to the description below
Mod options
I.Paper map - a map with paper textures. Attention! This option does not support the "Map without clouds" and "New objects" options.
II. Classic card- map from the previous version of the mod.
1) All roads (everything is clear here)
2) Main roads (everything is clear here too)
III. Clear map - a map with clear, "autumn" and "live" textures
1) Paved roads - roads with stone textures
2) Standard roads - roads with standard textures

Optional

There will be 4 folders in the archive - “Optional”. It will include 3 options:
I.Solstheim - Map for the island of Solstheim.
II.Map without clouds - A clean map of Skyrim without clouds (the clouds along the edges of the map are preserved).

III. New objects - this option adds new objects to the Skyrim map

Notes

If you have the following line "uLockedTerrainLOD" in your Skyrim.ini file, the map will not load properly. Remove this line from your .ini for this mod to work properly
- Another possible parameter in Skyrim.ini that will prevent the map from working properly is the line "fMapWorldTransitionHeight". If you have this line in the Skyrim.ini file, then delete it
- If you have the line "sMapCloudNIF=0" in Skyrim.ini, please remove it or the Optional Clear Map module will not work

Installation
I. - select 1 of the mod versions.
II. - select files from the folder optionally (optional)
III. - Upload files from folders to the Data folder (upload optional files after the main ones)

Attention! If you used the "Map without clouds" option in the previous version of the mod and want to install an updated version of this option, then before installing, delete the skyrimcloudlut.dds file along the path Data/textures/sky/

Finally, I would like to add that in the “Paper” version of the map, the inscriptions of the regions (Winterhold, White Coast, Rift, etc.) will be on English, because These are textures, but all markers are also in Russian.

To fully open the entire map in Skyrim, there are three ways:

First way the most difficult and longest (it will take about three hundred hours or more). This normal passage, where one area after another will be opened sequentially. Besides story missions, the player will have to do everything side quests, carefully search chests, open all doors and scrupulously examine caves, tombs and even corpses, start conversations with everyone you meet, read all diaries, notes and books.

Additional tasks can be in the most unexpected places and for different characters. Diaries, notes and books can be invaluable in finding new places in Skyrim.



Second option much simpler and does not require a full exploration of Skyrim on foot. You need to download and install the Cartographer 2.0.1 mod. Thanks to him, a card seller will appear in the game in locations. You can find merchants in Whiterun, next to the stables, in Riften near Helga and in the tavern in Raven Rock. Unfortunately, even if you open the entire map in Skyrim using the Cartographer, you will not be able to get to all locations quickly; you will still have to complete tasks sequentially. But the positive side of the mod is that the player will not miss a single location that may contain valuable artifacts and knowledge.

In order to install the mod, you should download all additional archives for the game, depending on which version the player has installed and the additions to it. Move the Data folder from the archives to the Skyrim folder and confirm the replacement of the folder. All that remains is to open the game Launcher, go to the File folder and activate the plugins in it. After completing this procedure, card sellers should appear in the game.

Last option, which will allow you to open the entire map in Skyrim is the simplest. To do this you need to use a cheat code. This path not only shows all the locations, but also makes it possible fast travel into an unexplored area.

The cheat code can be deactivated at any time and continue to explore the area in normal mode, opening location after location.

In order to activate the cheat code, you need to open the console window by pressing the tilde (~) key, then enter the code tmm 1 into the command line. After this operation, the entire map in the game will be open, and all hidden ones will appear on it location markers. In order to cancel the actions of the code, you need to enter the code tmm 0 into the console line.

These three options, how to open the entire map in Skyrim, can be used depending on the situation. The player is presented with a choice: go through the entire Skyrim game, with all the accompanying difficulties and challenges, or choose the easy way with the help of mods and cheat codes.

The original map of Skyrim did not offer an abundance of roads. A Quality World Map– With Roads fully displays all roads, significantly improves the textures of the in-game map, and also provides the ability to disable the clouds covering it.


A Quality World Map – With Roads provides the traveler with a map that is a pleasure to look at. Not only the main roads connecting one area to another are marked, but also small country roads leading to individual villages or mines. Improved textures add detail to the image. Now, when planning your trip, you can safely consult the map without the risk of getting lost on the completely “blind” map of the original game.

Installation of A Quality World Map – With Roads

The mod includes several texture options:

  • Standard – the map texture is standard;
  • Classic – the map type is stylized as a “paper” one;
  • Main Roads – only main roads are shown on the map;
  • All Roads – all roads and paths of Skyrim are completely mapped.

Additionally, in the archive you will find the Clear Map addon that disables cloud images on the map.

The modification brings to your attention improved maps of the world, with detailed drawings of roads existing in Skyrim. It goes without saying that the mod also supports all official additions, in particular, the island of Solstheim is painted in great detail.
Users are offered several map options.​


CLASSIC (2015) and VIVID (2016) cards:

  • This modification brings to the game a set of high-quality world map textures, including detailed roads. Solstheim is drawn in detail.
  • Mod version "CLASSIC" (2015). Classic fashion style used in original version fashion A Quality World Map v8.4, includes detailed map Solstheim. You can choose between "All Roads" and "Main Roads".
  • Mod version "VIVID" (2016). Appearance world maps updated and more detailed. This option includes all roads and a detailed map of Solstheim. It is possible to choose between the options "All Stone Roads" (some roads will appear as cobblestones on the map) and "All Flat Roads" (dirtier flat roads).

PAPER card:

  • Flat paper map of high quality. This variant was created using world screenshots, textures, and custom art assets.
  • There is no paper map for Solstheim. For the island, the map is similar to that in the VIVID 3D version.
  • For paper map viewing, tilt/zoom controls are disabled. However, you can still move the camera.
  • A negative nuance is the English-language names of the properties - inscriptions in the textures. However, the markers themselves are in Russian.

Addon CLEAR MAP SKIES:

  • This addon can be used in conjunction with the VIVID or CLASSIC option), and the addon simply disperses the cloud cover in the center of the map, giving a clearer picture of this area of ​​the world. There are clouds around the edges of the map.
  • This addon can be used by itself, without the A Quality World Map mod) - in order to remove clouds from the map for the vanilla game.
  • You understand, with paper card PAPER, this addon is not possible to use

Addon Hi-Res World Map Objects:

  • Adds more details to the world map, in particular such objects as bridges and granaries.
  • Designed for use with VIVID and CLASSIC variants.
  • Not suitable for use with a paper PAPER card.

Compatibility:

  • VIVID and CLASSIC maps: Compatible with almost everything, except for the No Fog on World Map mod (since Quality World Map also removes fog).
  • The PAPER paper map is not compatible with the CLEAR MAP SKIES addon or any other mod that changes the map clouds.
  • Compatible with mods that change markers on the map.

Setting the CLASSIC option(via managers or manually):​

  1. Download the archive and unpack it.
  2. Choose one of four mod options: Quality Map - Main Roads, Quality Map - All Roads, Hi-Res Quality Map - Main Roads or Hi-Res Quality Map - All Roads.
  3. Move the textures folder from the selected option to your game's Data folder, confirming the merge of folders and files.
  4. If you want to remove clouds from the center of the map, then install the Optional Clear Map module on top (placing the textures and meshes folders of this option in the Data folder of your game and confirming the merge of folders and files. If you want to use the updated CLEAR MAP SKIES option from the VIVID archive, then be sure to delete the file skyrimcloudlut.dds on the way Data/textures/sky/
  5. If you have the Dragonborn DLC installed, then you need to select the Solstheim Map module, place the textures folder from which in the Data folder of your game, confirming the merge of folders and files.

Setting VIVID or PAPER options (via managers or manually):​

  1. Download the archive and unpack it - you will receive five packed archives.
  2. Select the options you need and they should already be installed using the NMM manager or manually
    • Select one of the two VIVID options and place the textures, scripts folders and the icepenguinworldmap.esp file from it into the Data folder of your game, confirming the merge and activating the mod in the launcher.
    • If you chose the PAPER option, then place the files IcePenguinWorldMapPaper.bsa, IcePenguinWorldMapPaper.esp from it into the Data folder of your game, confirming the merge and activating the mod in the launcher.
    • If you chose the CLEAR MAP SKIES addon, then place the meshes and textures folders from it into the Data folder of your game, confirming the merge.
    • If you chose the HI-RES WORLD MAP OBJECTS addon, then place the meshes folder in the Data folder of your game, confirming, if necessary, merging folders and files.
