What is it like to complete a quest? Quest - what is it in simple words

At the very beginning of the game we meet with representatives of the Imperial Legion of Skyrim. They are taking our hero with other rebels to execution. We manage to escape, and here we have a choice: go with a man from the legion or entrust our lives to the Stormcloaks. Both of these factions are feuding due to the fact that the Imperials forbade the worship of Talos (the former emperor who ascended to heaven). The Nords refused to reject him, and are openly fighting the legion.

It is worth noting that it doesn’t matter who we go with, in the future we can make a choice and join either the Imperial Legion of Skyrim or the Stormcloaks.

You should know several rules for completing legion tasks. If you do not follow them, then bugs may appear in the game - quests will no longer close (after completion), or characters will not give them.

Our hero must kill the first dragon (near the tower in Whiterun) and find out that he is Dovahkiin. If this is not done, you will not be able to take on the quest to hand over the axe.

Equipment for faction members can be obtained after joining it. Or you can install a mod for the armor of the Imperial Legion of Skyrim. For example, one of them adds imperial attire, similar in its characteristics to orcish ones.

When capturing forts and defending large cities, you need to swing your weapon carefully, otherwise you can hit your comrades. They won’t like it, and they will start attacking our hero (taking him for an enemy). They'll have to start the quest again - nothing else will stop them. Also, you should not take companions (assistants, horses, etc.) with you - comrades in arms can attack them.

The items that Tullius or Ulfric (the leaders of the opposing sides) will give us depend on our level. The higher it is, the better item we'll get it.

There is no need to rush through the quests of the Imperial Legion in Skyrim, because after the hostilities some buildings will be destroyed. It's also not possible to take additional quests in Ulfric, Tullius and related characters.

The level of enemies and the reward received depends on the leveling of Dovahkiin, so the description may differ slightly from reality.

What kind of legion is this and how to join it

The Imperial Legion is a faction that unites all the forces of the Great Empire - Tamriel. She is at odds with the Stormcloaks, who do not want to obey the laws. The legion's headquarters is located in Solitude. The commanders-in-chief are General Tullius, legates Rikke and Caesennius.

The Emperor sent Tullius to Skyrim so that he could reduce Ulfric's influence on the Nords at any cost (they are too independent). If we want to support the Empire, we can complete several tasks and also become a legate.

To join the Imperial Legion of Skyrim, we go to Solitude. There we find and talk with the general. We tell him how well we dealt with the dragon. After this, he will invite us to join the faction and talk about it with Legate Rikke. From him we will receive a task - to liberate Fort Hrakstad from the bandits (10 people and the leader). After the victory, a new garrison will be formed here.

We inform Rikka that we have done everything, and he will send us to the general to take the oath. Once we accept it, the quest to join the Stormcloaks will be cancelled. Now we will be asked to approach the blacksmith Beirand, who will give out equipment and armor of the Imperial Legion of Skyrim (light, medium or heavy). The work in the guild is not over yet; the hero will be given several more fairly voluminous tasks.

Ranking system

Depending on the powers and role performed, each faction member has his own rank:

  1. General Commands legions (one or more) and is appointed by the Emperor himself;
  2. Legate. Leads a separate detachment, fortress or fort. The general appoints to this post those who were previously tribune or centurion;
  3. Tribune. This is the name given to a high-ranking professional military man capable of commanding a cohort;
  4. Centurion is another rank in the Imperial Legion of Skyrim. A veteran soldier or quaestor is promoted to this rank. The century stands under his command;
  5. Quaestor. Junior officer commanding a group of legionnaires (10 people);
  6. Legionary. This name is given to an ordinary soldier who has undergone military training in one of the legion’s camps;
  7. Recruit is the rank of fighters starting to undergo training.

When completing missions, we will often have to deal with the commander of the legion, General Tullius, and the leader of the Storm Brothers, Ulfric Stormcloak.

Behind the jagged crown

After joining the Imperial Legion of Skyrim, our character will have to complete the first task - to find the jagged crown. We will look for her in the ruins of Korvanjund together with several soldiers. The location is located at a considerable distance (applies to those who have just started playing), so it will take a long time to get to it. Along the way there are giants that it is better not to encounter without normal leveling.

Near Korvanjund we will meet Hadvar, legate Rikke and other warriors. Let's talk with them, inform them of our readiness and go to the ruins. About 10 warriors will be running with us, so you can just stand and watch them fight. We must be careful: if we hit anyone with our weapon, they will all start fighting against us.

So, we reach a narrow corridor, where Rikke (legate of the Imperial Legion in Skyrim) will offer us to find another way (he is afraid of an enemy ambush). We go up, to the left and find a bridge. At the same time, below, the comrades will fight the Stormcloaks. We move on until we find ourselves at the entrance to the halls of Korvanjund. Let's defeat several enemies and try to open the door with three circles with animals on them. The claw will help you find the right combination (we carefully look at it in your inventory). We expose the animals, insert the claw and move on.

In the next room, open the door by turning the lever and go upstairs. We pass through the bridge, find the lever and press it. Be prepared to be attacked by draugr immediately after this. In the last room we see a strong draugr (commander-in-chief) with a crown on his head. We kill him and get the artifact we need - the jagged crown. All that remains is to take it to General Tullius.

We work as a messenger - we go to Whiterun

Next quest when playing for the Imperial Legion in Skyrim - sending a message to the Earl of Whiterun. We get to the palace in any available way and talk to him. The Jarl will decide that it is time to resolve the issue regarding the fate of Ulfric Stormcloak, and will give us the axe. If the opponent returns it, then the challenge is accepted.

You can find Ulfric in the Palace of Kings in Windhelm. In a conversation with him, it turns out that he wants to return the ax to the jarl. We return and see that Whiterun is attacking large number Storm Brothers. We are sent to protect the city, so we go to Quentin Sirius and prepare for the upcoming battle. It is important to know that the quest cannot be completed unless the dragon threatening the city is killed.

Defending Whiterun

We go to the battlefield and talk to Legate Rikke. We leave Dragon's Reach and see explosions, flying bombs, and destruction. This will not cause harm to our hero and nearby buildings, so we move on. We have to help the Imperial Legion of Skyrim repel the attack of the Storm Brothers.

First we will defend the barricades from numerous enemies. If you fail to resist, then the next place of defense will be the bridge. If rivals penetrate the barricades, this will not affect the final reward or the outcome of the quest. On game screen you will be able to see a scale displaying the number of enemies as a percentage. When the indicator reaches zero, the Stormcloaks will stop attacking.

As soon as they take flight, you can go to General Tullius (he will be waiting near the entrance to Whiterun). A large number of warriors and good leveling of Dovahkiin will make the quest quite easy. To diversify and complicate the task a little, you can install mods for the Imperial Legion in Skyrim. They are able to change not only appearance buildings, but also add more to both camps strong warriors and magicians.

Capturing the White Coast

After we have fought off the enemies, we begin to liberate the lands from them. To capture the White Coast, we will be given two quests: “Disinformation” and “Battle for Fort Dunstad.” In general, there will be the capture of several forts located in different possessions.

First, we go to the secret camp on the White Coast and talk with Legate Rikke. He will give us the task of intercepting the courier who is transporting the documents of the rebel commander. He will constantly move, so you need to intercept him. The location of the courier is visible on the map, so finding him will not be difficult. An excellent option is to watch for him at the Night Gate tavern and pick up the item we need while he sleeps. You can also close the door to his room and quietly kill him.

We return to the camp, get fake documents and give them to the commander of the Storm Brothers in Dawnstar. Here you can cheat - wear rebel clothes. With well-leveled eloquence, they will easily believe that we are simply disguised (suitable for any armor).

After this, the Imperial Legion of Skyrim needs to clear Fort Dunstad. We go there and meet our soldiers, who will help us complete the task faster. Be careful, there are a lot of archers here. Enemies will constantly appear until their numbers drop to zero.

Taking over the Rift

We find another imperial camp located to the west of Riften. Rikke will be waiting for us there, who will give us two quests: “ War booty" and "The Battle of Fort Greenwall." The first task involves searching for incriminating evidence on Anuriel, who serves for the Jarl of Riften. We go to the place we need, find her room and steal the letter from the table (near the bed). The easiest way to complete the task is at night with well-leveled stealth.

When we get incriminating evidence, we talk about it with Anuriel. For our silence, she will share secret information about the location of the caravan with weapons and gold. If our eloquence is well developed, we can be persuaded to give the gold to us. We inform Rikka this and run to intercept the caravan. Imperial soldiers sitting in ambush will be waiting for us on the spot. We speak with Hadvar and proceed to the attack. We return to the camp and move on to the next task - the battle for Fort Greenwall.

The soldiers of the legion will also help us here, so there will be no problems with completing the quest. We storm the fort until the enemy counter is reset to zero. After this, we go to the general, who will give us a new rank in the Imperial Legion of Skyrim - Tribune. He will also tell you that a decisive battle with Ulfric Stormcloak will take place very soon.

Capturing Winterhold and Eastmarch

Next task is to rescue comrades from Fort Kastav. We need to sneak there, free the prisoners and open the gate to capture the location. You can get to Kastav unnoticed through a secret hatch, which Hadvar will tell you about. You'll have to wander around the perimeter a bit to see it (very well camouflaged). If you enter it too noisily, the stealth mission will fail. As a result, you will have to fight the rebels alone.

The key that lies on the table or in the pockets of one of the enemies will help you free your brothers. We get out into the yard, open the gate and easily win. We return to Tullius and receive the title of Legate. You should know that a bug often appears in this place - comrades do not enter the fort courtyard and do not help capture it. Because of this, the quest will not be able to end and will have to be repeated

In Eastmarch we have to clear Fort Amol. There is nothing complicated in this battle, and enemies are also counted in percentages. As soon as we destroy everyone, we go to Rikka and prepare for the last and most serious attack. We will fight in Windhelm with Ulfric Stormcloak and his guards.

It’s better to save before the battle, because there are often “bugs” here. Special mods for the Imperial Legion of Skyrim will help eliminate some problems with the game. You can also use them to change armor, weapons and other parameters of both sides.

Forward - to Windhelm

So, our decisive battle with the Stormcloaks has arrived. The main task is to break through a large number of enemies and get to the jarl's palace. Ulfric Stormcloak - leader of the rebels, student of the Greybeards. Although the Empire considers him an enemy, he seems to be a completely honest and normal person. The Imperials do not like his fight for the independence of the inhabitants of Skyrim and for the abolition of the terms of the White Gold Concordat. This oppresses the representatives of the Aldmeri Dominion and the Dunmer.

So, we move to the city gates of Windhelm, listen to the general and enter the city. Here it is better not to wait for anyone, not to help anyone, but to go towards the palace. The main passage is lined with barricades, so you will have to find a workaround. We turn left, go towards the cemetery, and along narrow streets we reach the right place. Enemies will periodically appear in front of us, which our warriors will help us deal with (if necessary).

As soon as our hero enters the palace, Tullius and Rikke will be nearby. They will then approach Ulfric and start talking to him. The enemy reports that he refuses to surrender. All that remains is to kill him. If you wish, you can ask General Tullius to do this. No matter who deals with him, we will still receive a reward.

The war is over, now all that remains is to destroy isolated groups of Storm Brothers (marked on the maps with a bear's paw). So, in game world We are faced with two opposing sides, each of which promotes its own ideas. To support a huge Empire, you should join the Imperial Legion of Skyrim. If you like the independence of the Nords and their worldview, then you should give preference to the Stormcloaks.

Tactics in the Imperial Legion are in charge of Legate Rikke, a middle-aged northerner.

The Imperial Legion is an expeditionary army fighting rebels for the good of Tamriel, which is now under the rule of the Thalmor elves. The credo of the legion is law and order, and General Tullius, not without reason, believes that a separated Skyrim will not benefit either the Empire or itself.

The missions for the legion largely repeat the tasks of the Stormcloaks - only in a “mirror” form. However, there are differences in the plot. We'll briefly describe the "duplicate" jobs and tell you more about the discrepancies.

Joining the Imperial Legion

The leader of the Hragstad bandits is so enthusiastically admiring the map that he has forgotten about everything in the world.

You can receive the task to join the ranks of the legionnaires at the very beginning, if you select the legionnaire Hadvar when escaping from Helgen. At the exit from the cave, he will invite the hero to go to General Tullius and enroll in the army. If you did not receive this quest or chose the rebel Ralof when fleeing, just go up to any legionnaire you meet (they often roam the roads accompanying prisoners) and take it.

General Tullius lives in the Dark Castle in Solitude. When you enter the legion headquarters, the general will argue with Legate Rikke. Since communication with Tullius under Helgen was, frankly speaking, short, he will immediately send us to the legate, and she will offer test task. We need to clear the Hragstad fortress from bandits so that the legion can establish an outpost there.

This task is much more difficult than the Stormcloak entrance test. There was only one monster, albeit a strong one, but here there was a whole fort with a dozen bandits. Some roam outside, some in the courtyard, some on the castle walls, one on the tower, and the rest in the main and prison rooms of the fortress. There are no special puzzles here. All enemies are indicated by arrows on the compass, so you won’t be in danger of missing the “last sectoid”.

Return to the Gloomy Castle, listen to the conversation about the Jagged Crown - Legate Rikke persuades the general to send troops (including the “auxiliary”, that is, us) to capture the crown. After the conversation, Rikke will rejoice at our successes and send us to Tullius to take the oath. Taking a solemn oath will mean failing the quest to join the Stormcloaks, if you have one.

Serrated crown

“And here is your Panama hat!” - Legate Rikke hits the next Storm Brother with his shield. A real Valkyrie!

This quest mirrors what the Stormcloaks give you if you choose the rebel path. In the ancient cairn of Korvanjund, the Jagged Crown was found - an important symbol of the supreme power of Skyrim, and now the first to enter the dungeon were no longer legionnaires, but rebels. General Tullius does not understand why the crown is needed, but Legate Rikke convinced him that it was impossible to give such a valuable thing to Ulfric.

Before going to Korvanjund, take the legionnaire's kit from the blacksmith Beirand - light armor, heavy or medium (it’s also light, but with a heavy shield).

The place we need on the map is north of Whiterun and east of the Lorey farm. A group of legionnaires stands in a small forest near the cairn and listens to Rikke’s instructions. After the conversation, the whole gang will move to the burial ground, where the Storm Brothers will meet us.

You don't have to fight at all - Legate Rikke is indestructible, and the accompanying fighters are reborn. But there is nothing wrong with helping your own people. Several soldiers are on duty outside, the rest are hiding inside and are not waiting for us yet. When Rikke announces an ambush, go up one level and bring down burning lamps on the rebels standing with their feet in the oil.

At the secret door, pick up the ebony claw and use the wolf-butterfly-dragon combination. In the hall with the coffins, go up to the upper level and, by turning the lever, help Rikka and the legionnaires get rid of the draugr. After this, all that remains is to remove the crown from the draugr, who is sitting on the throne in a relaxed position. To do this, you need to kill him and a couple of his assistants from the sarcophagi on the sides.

Take the crown, the word of Power - and return to Tullius. You can also give the crown to Ulfric - then you will go over to his side. This is the last opportunity to change faction.

Message for Whiterun

There is a military council in Dragonsreach, and meanwhile the Stormcloaks are already approaching the walls of the city.

This task is also “mirror”, but this time it is not Ulfric who asks us to take the ax to the Earl of Whiterun, but on the contrary - the Earl of Whiterun asks us to take his ax to Ulfric (and gets just as irritated if we ask: “Why the ax?”). True, first, on the instructions of Tullius, you need to come with a message from the legion to the Dragon's Reach and listen to how the jarl consults with his entourage.

NOTE: The quest cannot be completed until it is completed story mission“The dragon is in the sky,” the jarl will simply refuse to accept the message.

Then we run with the ax to Ulfric, and after that the differences begin: we do not take Whiterun, but defend it. The council of war in the room above the throne room is held in the company of the imperial legate. He accepts the task “Message for Whiterun” from us and gives the following - “Battle of Whiterun”.

Battle of Whiterun

Hadvar can easily see the speck in his neighbor's eye, but in his own he doesn't even notice the arrow.

Flames pour down from the sky onto Whiterun - the city is being bombarded by catapults. Legate Rikke is waiting outside the gate. When she sees us, she will make a speech to a handful of warriors who are about to fight another handful of warriors.

The battle of Whiterun follows the usual template, which was already described in the walkthrough for the Stormcloaks: there are weak fighters on both sides, they are reborn, and dead enemies are noted on the percentage counter. When it reaches zero, we win. The only difference is that here we have a couple of side objectives: protecting the barricades at the gate and protecting the drawbridge if the barricades fall.

Keeping even a bridge or a gate intact is a difficult task, since there are many enemies and they can demolish the flimsy “goats” in a couple of blows or shots. You can break through to the stables where the Stormcloaks are reborn and try to distract them. Or you can take advantage of a bug.

One way or another, you do not have to complete side quests, or even participate in the battle. When it ends, check in with the jarl (he will come out of the gate to make a speech) and return to Tullius, who will give us the title of quaestor.

NOTE: the remaining quests are collected under the name "Unification of Skyrim".

Disinformation

“Is the Storm Brotherhood fleeing?” - “Everyone is running!”

Our new mission is to regain control of the White Coast. In the White Bank camp, the hero will be met by Rikke and given another “mirror” task. Like the Stormcloaks, you need to track down and kill the courier. To do this, check out the Night Gate tavern or the Windhelm establishment Hearth and Candle. The bartender will tell you where to look for the courier - for money, for threats or persuasion. After this, an arrow will appear on the map indicating our goal. Kill the courier, take the documents and deliver to Rikka.

The second part of the task is to take the documents to Dawnstar, a commander named Frokmar Torn Banner. After a normal conversation (“why not in the form?” - “so that the enemy doesn’t guess!”), the task will be completed. Return to Legate Rikka.

Battle of Dunstad Fort

The most peaceful place in Dunstad is the Awkward Sabertooth Tavern. Above the fireplace is the saber tooth itself.

To finally recapture the region from the Stormcloaks, you need to storm Fort Dunstad. This is not a quest, but a battle - the enemies here are weak, constantly reborn, and the percentage counter shows how much more hacking and stabbing is left before victory.

After the battle, Tullius will promote the hero to prefect and send him to the Rift.

War booty

The target is a sentry. A volley of two arrows should take him down.

Rikke will give out another “mirror” task - with blackmail. Our goal is Anuriel, the ruler of the Jarl of Riften. She is doing business with the Thieves Guild, and the incriminating note will be found in the chest of drawers in her office. Wave a note in front of Anuriel's face, and she will lead you into the office and tell you about the cart with valuable cargo. The carriage travels from Riften to Windhelm - it travels slowly and is poorly guarded. The information is very useful.

Return to Rikka and she will send you to meet the scouts located north of Riften, at Shor's watchtower. The scouts are led by Hadvar. As in a similar task of the Storm Brothers, the cart broke down, and we have two options: attack the guards ourselves or with the help of scouts (they will help with fire). The scouts can be persuaded to wait until nightfall, but there is no point in doing so.

The sentry wanders along a high rock - if you accept the help of Hadvar's group, they will “take down” him with their bows.

The cart is guarded by several Stormcloak fighters. If you don’t want to fight, you can run from them in circles until the immortal Hadvar finishes off the last one. Don't forget to empty the chest on the cart. Talk to Hadvar and return to the legate.

NOTE: if you have completed story quest“Endless Time” and Riften went to the Empire, this quest will not be given to you at all.

Battle of Fort Greenwall

Fort Greenwall has strong walls and a small courtyard.

The Battle of Fort Greenwall is another typical battle. The fort is located north of Riften. When ours win and the enemy counter is reset, return to Tullius. He will say that the legion is already on Ulfric’s doorstep, and the decisive battle is coming soon. And we are going to Winterhold, to a secret camp.

Fort Kastav - saving comrades

They shined torches everywhere, searched everywhere, but no weapons were found.

The legate will give a new situation: captured legionnaires are languishing in Fort Kastav. Hadvar's sabotage group has taken refuge in the hills below the fort, and she will be happy to send us forward to save the legionnaires.

Unlike the “mirror” task for the Stormcloaks, here you won’t have to look for a secret entrance for long. The hatch is right under the wall. There are several sentries inside the fortress. You can steal the key from them, but this will not bring much benefit, so it is better to free the prisoners by removing the keys from their bodies. The prisoners will return the armor, but weapons are tight, so they will have to help in battle - they won’t fight much with their fists.

Find Hadvar in or near the fortress, give him a report and return to Tullius, who will promote the hero to legate and give him heavy Daedric armor.

Battle of Amol Fort

Quite unexpectedly, Fort Amol, along with legionnaires, was attacked by an ancient dragon. They finished him off only in the morning.

Our next stop is a camp in Eastmarch, from where the hero will be sent to battle for Fort Amol. This is a classic “percentage” battle - the last one in the plot. After him, Legate Rikke will immediately send him to Windhelm, where the final act of the drama about the struggle between the “reds” and the “blues” is about to take place.

Battle of Windhelm

"We meet again, my old enemy!"

Fire charges from Ulfric's catapults are flying from the city, but General Tullius and his soldiers are already standing in the “dead zone” at the very gates. After a short speech, the group will enter the city.

The main task is not to destroy the enemies, but to go through the entire city and get to the royal palace as quickly as possible, where the Earl of Windhelm is holed up. The main passage to the palace is blocked with barricades (this time - real ones, which cannot be penetrated by either a sword or an arrow), so we will have to immediately turn left, go down to the cemetery, go through the narrow streets under figurines of ravens, turn right under the high walls and thus ending up at the entrance to the palace. Enemies will respawn on our way, so if you are not confident in your abilities, stick to the main group of legionnaires.

There is no need to do anything inside anymore. If you want, help Tullius and Rikka deal with Ulfric and his faithful dog Galmar. The last choice is to apply the last blow to the defeated jarl or to give this honor to the general.

In any case, the war has been won, and all we have left is to destroy individual groups of Stormcloaks hiding in the hills if we wish!

Your journey in Skyrim will begin with choosing a race, each of which has its own unique characteristics. Some residents of Tamriel have outstanding physical strength, others excel in the study of magic, and still others make excellent diplomats. In general, it’s a sin to complain about the lack of variability.

In this article we will talk about one of the most prominent races in Skyrim - the Imperials. It was they who at one time managed to conquer all the peoples of Tamriel and unite them into one powerful state. Now the Imperials are once again destined to play a key role in the flaring conflict.

Description

The natives of Cyrodiil are known for their education, discipline and military training. Imperials in Skyrim cannot boast of phenomenal physical data, but they have a predisposition to trade and diplomacy. Representatives of this race often occupy important government positions, run successful stores and command troops.

If we are talking about the army, then we cannot fail to mention the imperial legion. This is awesome war machine, consisting mostly of light infantry. Even if you travel the length and breadth of Tamriel, you will be hard-pressed to find a force capable of standing up to these experienced warriors.

Story

The history of Cyrodiil begins with the arrival of the Ayleids, the ancient relatives of all elven races, in these lands. The local inhabitants, the ancestors of today's imperials, were enslaved by conquerors who used their labor to satisfy their own ambitions. The reign of the Ayleids lasted until 242 of the First Era.

Unable to bear the oppression of the conquerors any longer, the slaves, led by Alessia, began a rebellion that became a turning point in the balance of power on the continent. As a result, the Cyrodiils managed to expel the Ayleids from their own lands. Moreover, having united with the Nords, they managed to conquer most of Tamriel and create the Empire - a true monument to prosperity and peace.

Peculiarities

Like every other race in the game, Imperials have several unique features:

  • Imperial Luck is a passive effect that allows you to find more gold.
  • Voice of the Emperor is an active skill that calms enemies for 60 seconds. Can only be used once a day.

In addition, representatives of this race have a starting bonus to the magic of restoration and destruction, and are also trained in enchanting, blocking, using heavy armor and wielding one-handed weapons.

Equipment

Imperial armor in Skyrim is divided into light and heavy. The armor is made of leather and steel, so it is far from the best equipment found in the game. However, the use of such cheap materials is completely justified. IN imperial army consists of a huge number of soldiers, each of whom must be equipped with at least some armor.

If you wish, you can easily make such equipment yourself at the forge. In addition, Imperial armor can be removed from the bodies of defeated enemies, and can also be found in all sorts of chests and hiding places.
