In Fallout 4, the developers decided to take a slightly different path than in the previous game in the series - if previously you had to sweat to get power armor, then in the new part they will give it to you almost from the very beginning. And here a bunch of questions arise about its use. First of all, it falls apart quite well in battle under the onslaught of enemy bullets, so in Fallout 4 you definitely cannot avoid repairing power armor.

Let's start fixing it

So how do you repair power armor in Fallout 4? First of all, you need to find any settlement, both friendly characters and some raiders, and find a special repair station there. You can move to Sanctuary - the station there will also be available to you from the very beginning of the game.

We come close and get out of the power armor - it will automatically be installed in the desired position and a point will open for you using a station for improvements or repairs.

Inside, we scroll through the list of armor components and when we get to the damaged one, we will see the active “T” button at the bottom. Repair." We press the corresponding button on the keyboard and then confirm the repair.

How to repair power armor in Fallout 4

After pressing “T”, in any case, you will receive a message that a certain amount of resources will be spent. Thus, if you are missing some element to repair, then you can see which one and get it from the trash.

Important!

When parts of the armor break completely, they are moved to the backpack and after repairing, you must first put on the power armor again, and then open the backpack and place the repaired part on it again.

IN Fallout 4 series you can find 5 types of power armor: raiders, and X-01. In ours you can find all the answers to questions regarding the search for power armor.

Exactly power armor is, so to speak, its feature and, also, one of the important elements in the game, because if you think like that, then without it you will practically not be able to do anything, and, moreover, it makes your life in the game much easier.

I would like to immediately give you some tips on how best to use power armor:

  • To begin with, always take out the nuclear block from it in those moments when you leave it somewhere, because not only you like it, so that it can be stolen;
  • I would also like to remind you that the more difficult the tasks for your armor, the faster the energy of your core block will be consumed;
  • Collect all the Hot Rod magazines to visually upgrade your armor. But you can read where to find them in our article here;
  • You need a Blacksmith and a Weaponsmith so that you can create much more advanced mods for your armor.

Main Features

Of course, this power armor is designed to completely protect your hero. The most important, so to speak, organ in this power armor is the nuclear unit, it is with its help that you can use this armor, but without it it becomes just a piece of unnecessary iron.

When wearing armor, at a minimum, you receive virtually no damage, because it is the armor that takes on everything. Also, you get a much smaller amount of radiation in it. And another advantage of armor is that when you are wearing it, you can simply rush into a huge crowd of enemies and, in general, you are not in any danger.

But, of course, this miracle has a huge disadvantage, which manifests itself in the fact that the charge nuclear block it sits down very quickly, especially if you run, you will simply waste all your energy in a matter of minutes. Well, if you go in stealth mode, then yes, energy will be saved, but you can’t walk like this forever. So here's a little advice: try to use your armor specifically for bosses, or in the most extreme cases.

Also, another huge plus fallout 4 series is that you can get your power armor right at the very beginning. After speaking with Codsworth in Sanctuary Hills, go to Concord and free the people at the Freedom Museum in the quest "Freedom's Call". Detailed description of this quest you can find in our section Articles -> Quests. In the second half of the quest, players are given a fully functioning suit, complete with a nuclear unit. And here you have a small choice: use the armor as it is or modify it. Also, you can buy additional components for it, or steal them, which will be a little more difficult, of course, but free.

Modification and repair

With a very good, competent and correct modification of your armor, you can become simply incredibly powerful and dangerous for everyone - enemies will always try to avoid you. Well, to begin with, in order for the player to be able to do anything at all with the armor, first you will need to find a service station for power armor. It's a big yellow frame next to the workshops. At the beginning of the game, most likely, it will be very difficult for you to find such stations, but believe me, as the game progresses, this will not be a problem at all and you will simply meet them in the most unexpected places.

In general, you can always find out what can be done with the armor and, also, whether it needs repair, whether anything can be modified in it, or replaced; for this, as it turned out, a station is not needed at all. You can always find out just by looking at your armor.

You can also replace one module with another without using a station, and as a result, the whole list of what you can do with your armor without a special station.

Power Armor Repair

First, get into your reservation, then go to the service station and leave it there. But then just select “Use”.

Select the item that is broken and click on the “Fix” button. I also advise you to regularly repair your armor, because if something is broken, it will not be able to function fully.

Power armor modification

To do this, you need to select any of the elements of your armor and check the “Modify” option. Further, depending on how much material you have and, not least, what kind, the station will offer you available modifications.

Also, if, suddenly, you don’t have enough materials for the upgrade, don’t rush to panic, because you can always take one of the items into pieces, among which, in any case, you will find exactly what you’re missing.

I would also like to remind you that there is various types modifications that will pump something separate for you. So choose one type of upgrade, or, if you can balance everything correctly, you can try to upgrade your armor, so to speak, in many ways.

And for each of the elements of your armor there are its own mods and each of them upgrades something in it. Try to experiment a little with leveling up your armor and make it so that it perfectly suits your style of fighting enemies.

You can receive an important bonus for your armor when you repaint it. New types of paint jobs can be obtained by completing various quests, as well as from Hot Rod magazines, information about which can be found in our other article at the following link.

Nuclear blocks

And now we’ll talk about what breathes life into your armor, namely nuclear blocks. And, like everything in the game, you can get them in 2 popular ways: either buy (the approximate price for one such block is about 500 caps), or steal (although this will be much more difficult, but you won’t spend a penny). But, also, there is also a 3rd option, free and legal, but quite long. It lies in the fact that you can find nuclear blocks in various generators, abandoned suits, and also in random containers in the Wasteland.

Power armor- this is the best and most reliable armor in Fallout 4. It guarantees maximum protection from bullets and grenades, energy, radiation and thermal effects, maintains health when falling from great heights and allows you to stay under water for a long time, can withstand attacks from the legendary death claws and swamp queens, ideal for close combat. In total, Fallout 4 has 5 power armor models: raider, T-45, T-51, T-60, X-01. A complete set of power armor consists of six parts: torso, head, arms and legs. The best and rarest power armor is considered to be X-01, its parts are starting to appear at high levels, on which the completeness and variety of the set also depends. If you come for it too early, then there is a high risk of receiving power armor of a lower rank and without some parts. Level 30 is optimal time To begin your search for the best power armor in Fallout 4, until this point the T-45, found on the roof of the Liberty Museum in Concord at the very beginning of the game, will reliably protect against serious injuries, injuries and damage. Before visiting power armor storage areas, you should save, and if unsuccessful, reboot and return later.

To access all the capabilities of power armor, use nuclear blocks, which are sold to traders, extracted from nuclear generators, or stored in secluded locations throughout the Boston Wasteland. One nuclear unit lasts approximately 45 minutes active play. After the charge is exhausted, the nuclear unit is automatically replaced with a new one. The number of available blocks and charge level are shown on the counters in the lower right corner of the monitor. The ability “Nuclear Physicist” (+100%), which is purchased and improved three times at the ninth level of “Intelligence” in the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. point distribution system, also helps to increase the duration of the nuclear unit (+10%).

Painting, modification, and repair of power armor in Fallout 4 takes place at service stations. The more powerful the power armor, the more resources are spent on any manipulation. To repair power armor, you need to come close to the yellow steel frame and press the [E] key. The command does not always work the first time; in this case, you need to exit the power armor by holding down the [E] key, and then press the [E] key again at the station. The nearest power armor will be automatically engaged. Using the arrows from the list, select the part you need to repair and press the [T] key. If there is enough junk in the workshop, then the selected part of the suit will be repaired. To install the repaired parts, press the [R] key, to exit the workbench - + [E]. Selected parts from the kit will be installed on the frame. Broken pieces of power armor are placed in the character's inventory and do not take up space.

Power armor is usually found at checkpoints among military equipment, hidden in broken down railroad cars or stored in containers on abandoned docks, protected by monsters, robots, raiders, super mutants and gunslingers, or locked away with complex terminals and locks. Power armor does not always come complete; often, only a few parts can be found on the frame, which can be removed from one power armor and installed on another at any time. Hot Rod Magazines is adding a new color scheme for the Power Armor.

In Fallout 76, you'll have to spend a lot of time exploring the Appalachian wilderness and fighting mutants. The best equipment for traveling is power armor. Today we will tell you how to repair, search, customize and store your equipment.

Power armor in Fallout 76

Armor in new game very similar to the one from Fallout 4. Players have to assemble it piece by piece, starting with the base frame. Most power armor (Raider, T45 and X-01) can only be worn after reaching a certain level and the spare parts found will have to be carried with you until the desired level is pumped up. You will also have to look for armor piece by piece, in different places around the world.

Armor spawn locations seem to be almost random. Sets appear in roughly the same places, but not for every player. The equipment runs on thermonuclear blocks that must be collected around the world. What's good is that the charge lasts much longer in the new part than in Fallout 4.

Where to find power armor in Fallout 76

If you are looking for armor for yourself, then you have two options:

The first is to progress along the main line of story quests until you are shown the location of the armor from the Terminal. This will save a lot of time.

The second option is to try to find the base for the armor at one of the spawn points around the world. For example, in Arktos Pharma southeast of Vault 76.

Another power armor was found northeast of Wade Airport, in the basement of the Nuka-Cola Kanawha plant.

The third one can be found outside the Belching Betty Mine during the quest Into the Fire from Charleston firefighters.

How to customize and repair your armor

To customize your armor and repair it, you need to go to one of the special stations marked with yellow marks on the map or build your own camp.
