How to change the version of GTA 5. You are trying to join the GTA Online servers using a modified version of the game

During the next launch of GTA V Online, you may encounter a rather interesting problem that you have not experienced before. You may have dabbled in some modifications for GTA V, for example, which improve the visual component of the game or something like that.

Here is a message that you may encounter at startup GTA Online:

"Are you trying to join GTA servers Online using a modified version of the game. Return to grand theft Auto V.

In general, it doesn't matter what you use. The important thing is that you "used" it and there were no problems until today. So, this problem solved in most cases in two ways. In one, you will need to delete just one file, while in the other you will need to perform more complex actions.

The message appeared for a reason, since your copy of GTA V did become “modified” at some point, but we will fix it now. Let's start with the simplest method.

Removing the dinput8.dll file

In order to fix the above error, you need to delete the dinput8.dll file. This file is used when the script is running. script hook V, which allows you to run mods in GTA 5 on PC. If you have used at least some mods for GTA V, then you know what we are talking about.

In general, go to the GTA V folder and delete the dinput8.dll file. Then try logging into GTA Online again. This time everything should go like clockwork. If this did not happen, which is still possible, then we will now try to remove the message “You are trying to join the GTA Online servers using a modified version of the game” in a slightly different way.

Emptying the GTA V folder

If the previous method did not help you, then now we will resort to a little more serious measures, in which you will have to delete, reboot and check a lot. So, take the following steps:

That, in fact, is all you need to do to get rid of the message "You are trying to join the GTA Online servers using a modified version of the game." It is worth warning right away that you may have to repeat the last two points a couple of times, as this does not always work.

Some gamers are faced with the fact that they do not know how to change the language in GTA 5. And this is not surprising, because in the game settings there is no option at all that allows you to do this. Fortunately, there is a way out of this situation.

From the article you will learn how to change the language in GTA 5. In doing so, it will consider different ways, two of which are suitable for the pirated version of the game, and one will only work in the licensed edition.

Through the registry

Since you won’t be able to change the language in GTA 5 using standard methods, you will have to manually edit one of the entries in the registry operating system. It is done like this:

  • Type "regedit" by pressing Win + R.
  • Go to the "HKLM" directory.
  • Then open "SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node".
  • Go to "Rockstar\Grand Theft Auto V".
  • Find the "Language" option. Open it and write in the line "Value" the command "ru-RU".
  • Now confirm the changes made, close all programs and restart your PC. If everything is done correctly, the language in the game will change to Russian.

Please note that this method only works in pirated versions of the game, and even then not in all. If it did not help you, then you can use alternative method, which will be discussed below.

Via ini file

Another option on how to change the language in GTA 5 is to edit the ini file responsible for the game settings. To do this:

  • Go to the game folder, find the 3dgame.ini file in it and run it in Notepad.
  • Find the parameter "Language=zh-CHT" (it should be the first one) and rename it to "Language=ru-RU".

  • Close the file after saving all changes.
  • Next, you should restart your computer. After that, launch the game and check if the language has changed in it.

Please note that this method, like the previous one, will only work in the pirated version. By the way, there are times when you need to use both options at the same time. Only in this way the settings will take effect, and you will be able to change the language in the game.

For Steam version

Oddly enough, even the owners licensed version games purchased on Steam are faced with the fact that they do not know how to change the language in "GTA 5". However, they have such a problem less often, since applications launched through the digital store themselves adapt to the region in which the user lives. But still, if you need to change the language, do the following:

  • Launch Steam and go to the "Library" section.
  • Go to the properties of GTA 5, then go to the "Language" section.
  • Select Russian (or another language you need) in the list and confirm the changes.

Perhaps, after that, the download of additional files will begin, the end of which you will need to wait. Also keep in mind that Russian voice acting for GTA 5 does not exist, so you can only rely on subtitles.
