Download a mod for cool weapons for terraria. The best mods for Terraria

Note: Please note that the mods in this article will be divided into 2 types: the first type are global mods that add a lot of new things to the game, and the second type are regular mods that add a few things or make the game easier.

Installing mods and a short review of tmodloader

Installing mods for Terraria is painfully simple and convenient, since you just need to download an application called “tmodloader” from the official website of the game terraria.org.

Just scroll down the page until you come across the word download, and then select the version for your OS and click on it, the download will begin.

Note: Before you do the steps above, make sure that your characters and worlds are securely saved in a separate place, and if you want to transfer them to the modified version of the game, then simply copy their files into the files of the modified game, since the modified game does not will see them from the folder with the regular game.

Now you need to copy all downloaded files to the root folder of the game, agreeing to the replacement. Next, you need to launch the game from the jungle tree shortcut, and only then will the modified game load for you. Don't be alarmed when your game rolls back to version 1.3.5.2: this is due to the fact that the latest version of tmodloader was made specifically for this version (let me remind you, the latest version of the game is 1.3.5.3).

The game itself will now look like this:

As you can see, the game has changed: the tmodloader version began to be displayed below along with the game version, and 3 new buttons appeared in the game itself. Let's look at them in more detail:

  • Mods- this button shows you a specific menu that displays all the mods you have installed. Here you can turn them on, off and reboot, you can also create a mod pack in which all currently downloaded mods will be stored, this will be useful in case they are lost.
  • Mod Browser- this button allows you to install mods directly in the game itself (of course, provided that the mod authors themselves added them there). Just start typing the name at , and the mod you need will be found, and then click the download button next to it.
  • Mod Sources- the last button is responsible for the mod sources, and this is where you can open the folder with mods and see those that you installed not through the browser. This button will be useful for you if you know some name of a cool mod, but cannot find it in the browser.

Well, we've sorted out tmodloader, now let's move on to the review of well-known mods.

Best global modifications

Tremor Remastered

A fairly well-known mod from our Russian developers. It adds a lot of new things to the game and also has its own Russian-language wiki.

What it contains:

  • 1600+ new items
  • 150+ mobs
  • 21 bosses
  • 13 npc
  • 1st class
  • 2 biomes
  • 2 events

Antiaris

Mod from the creators of Tremor Remastered. It also adds a lot of content to the game, but this time the developers assure that quality is important to them, not quantity.

What it contains:

  • 440+ items
  • 20+ mobs
  • 2 bosses
  • 2 NPCs
  • 6 structures
  • Support for Russian, Italian and Chinese languages

Split

Another mod from the developers of Tremor Remastered. Like the previous 2, it adds a lot of content to the game, and the developers again assure that quality is important to them, not quantity.

What it contains:

  • 250+ items
  • 25+ mobs
  • 2 bosses
  • 4 NPCs
  • 1 structure
  • Russian language support

Terraria Overhaul

This is also quite an interesting mod, which, instead of adding huge content to the game, makes it more realistic, namely: it adds a fire system, realistic behavior of cut down trees, seasons and much more. Just recently a new version was released, which contains remixes of almost all the original games.

What it contains:

  • 30+ items
  • A couple of mobs
  • almost all living things
  • Flammability, combustion
  • Several new events
  • Emoji
  • Thunderstorms
  • Tornado
  • Quick layout
  • Reload
  • Rocket - jump
  • A lot of blood when killing mobs and bosses
  • Change of seasons (One month lasts 12 game days)
  • Resprites
  • A durability system has been added for some items
  • New vegetation
  • New versions of original soundtracks
  • And much more

Calamity Mod

Quite an interesting mod that stands out from the rest, namely its highlight - Revengeance Mode, which is an enhanced version of the vanilla Expert mod. When you enable this mod, you have 2 new scales - Adrenaline and Fury. Adrenaline increases if you don't take damage during a boss fight. When you receive damage, your adrenaline level drops and will have to be increased again. It can only be used during boss battles. Fury slightly increases your damage for a few seconds. Earned as you take damage. The mod also adds many items, like any other global mod.

Note: If you want new music to play in new biomes added by the mod, you will need to separately install the Calamity Mod Music mod.

What it contains:

  • 1250+ items
  • 250+ mobs
  • 24 bosses
  • 3 biomes
  • Several new difficulty levels

Disarray

The mod, like many others, specializes in adding various content to the game, and also adds a new biome - a volcano.

What it contains:

  • 630+ items
  • 120+ mobs
  • 10+ bosses
  • 1 biome

Exodus Mod

A global mod that adds many things to the game.

What it contains:

  • 1300+ items
  • 220+ mobs
  • 8 bosses
  • 1 npc
  • 1 structure
  • 1 biome
  • Russian language support

Elements Awoken

A well-developed and high-quality mod that adds many types of weapons with interesting mechanics and more.

Note: If you want the new music added by the mod to play in the game, you will also need to separately install the Elements Awoken Music mod.

What it contains:

  • 580+ new items
  • 30+ mobs
  • 12 bosses
  • 2 NPCs
  • 1 event

Thorium

A global and well-balanced mod that adds a lot of content to the game.

What it contains:

  • 2000+ new items
  • 180+ mobs
  • 11 bosses
  • 10 npc
  • 2 classes
  • 1 biome

Fishing 2.0

This mod is suitable for fans, as it improves vanilla fishing by adding new catches, fishing rods, and weapons.

Best auxiliary modifications:

Auto Trash

This mod allows you to throw an unnecessary item into the trash without going into your inventory.

AlchemistNPC

Adds 7 new NPCs that sell potions. The mod will be useful in “expert” mode, since potions are vital there, and they take quite a long time.

Boss Checklist

A very useful mod that shows all the bosses in the game, noting those that have already been defeated, as well as the order in which they are killed as they progress. This mod also supports other global modifications and will be very useful if you have a huge build with them.

Magic Storage

Are you tired of this mess in your chests? Never remember where you put things? This mod offers a solution to storage problems once and for all. It allows you to build a Central Network to store all your items. If you want, you can even set up multiple access points so you can use your storage from anywhere in the world. You can search your storage for items with a specific name, filter by item type, etc. Magic Storage can even create items for you.
Magic Storage will improve and increase storage as you progress. It is available from the very beginning of the game, but with limited power. As you defeat bosses and earn more materials, you can upgrade your vaults to perform more functions and further expand capacity. Interestingly, there is a similar mod for Minecraft.

imkSushi's

A small but useful mod that only changes the vanilla game, namely adding some crafting recipes, as well as special tokens that drop until the player performs a certain action. From tokens you can make things that are found in chests, which will be very useful for those who have already searched through all the chests in their world, but have not found some necessary thing.

Tokens come in the following types:

  • Pre-Boss Token - drops from monsters until the player kills their first boss.
  • Post-Goblin Token - Drops from monsters after the player completes the Invasion event.
  • Post-Skeletron Token - Drops from monsters after the player defeats Skeletron.
  • Hardmode Token - Drops from monsters after the player defeats the Wall of Flesh.
  • Post-Pirate Token - drops from monsters after the player completes the Invasion event.
  • Post-Mech Token - Dropped by monsters after the player defeats Gemini, Destroyer, and Skeletron Prime.
  • Post-Plantera Token - Drops from monsters after the player defeats Plantera.
  • Jungle Temple Token - drops from monsters after the player defeats Plantera and is also in the Jungle Temple at that time.
  • Post-Martian Token - Drops from monsters after the player completes the Martian Madness event.
  • Swap token - This token, unlike the others, is always available and can be purchased from the Goblin Engineer. It is used to replace loot from the enemy: for example, if you killed the Slime King and you got a hook, then with this token you can exchange it for a riding slug, but if it drops a part from an armor set, you can exchange it for another part , but not on a riding slug.

Max Stak+

Makes a maximum stack of 9999 for all items except tools and weapons.

WingSlot

Well, it’s clear from the name of the mod that it adds a separate slot for wings to the game.

ExperienceAndClasses

This mod adds a special accessory that upgrades as you kill mobs. Initially, you have access to a simple accessory that adds a little health to you, and then, when you upgrade it, special blue orbs will begin to fall out for you, with the help of which you can improve your accessory for any class you prefer to play for.

Recipe Browser

Now you don’t need to constantly run to the guide to look at any recipe - just press one button and you will have a window in which you can look at any recipe.

Yet Another Boss Health Bar

Do you like fighting bosses? Then this mod is for you! He adds a special bar to the game that shows how much HP the boss has. Each stripe has its own design, which depends on the boss you are currently fighting (only vanilla bosses have a design). The mod also supports other bosses from global modifications.

WorldGen Previewer

Adds a preview of the map, which can be paused at any time and examined in more detail.

Terraria(Terraria) is a fairly popular game today that will take you to a fairy-tale world. This project is made in the sandbox genre with a fairly open, colorful world. Here you will have complete freedom of action. The only thing that can limit you is the change of day and night, as well as various creepy creatures that crawl out of their caves. This suggests that in the game you need to constantly be on alert, and also immediately arrange a safe shelter for yourself. The main character will explore the world for useful resources, from which you can then create items useful for survival. You should not forget about replenishing your arsenal with weapons, so that in the event of a fight, you can attack your opponent. Here you need to build, dig and mine a lot to stay alive. Go hunting, replenish your food supplies, and also try to improve your weapons. The game world is very dangerous, and creepy creatures can take your life at any convenient moment.

Terraria has been around for about five and a half years. During this time, this spacious sandbox managed to please countless players and acquired a decent number of updates and thousands of custom mods, the list of which stretches somewhere to infinity.

The following modifications are among my favorites. They add new items, a soundtrack, settings and almost completely change this 2D gaming platform from the studio Re-Logic. There are even mods that turn the game into a full-fledged RPG, so you'll always find something interesting to suit your discerning tastes. Have fun experimenting!

Let's start with the big one right away, shall we? Tremor Mod Remastered is one of the best mods, and is as close to a complete Terraria conversion as you can get. With 522 items (including weapons), seven NPCs, tons of mobs and six new bosses, the mod team (and there are seven of them) weren't kidding when they said, "our goal is to make the game even bigger, fill it with more content." In addition, Tremor adds an exclusive Expert Mode that will captivate even the best players and intrepid treasure hunters.

imkSushi's crafting mod

Terraria, in general, is a game about growth - the character, his skills and your survival skills. And this plays a very noticeable role. If we talk about perseverance and successful collecting, then the mod by imkSushi will allow you to craft anything, anytime. With it, all those items that are usually found in chests and loot are available from the very beginning of the game, which is great for action-oriented players. You can even buy items from NPCs to summon bosses you've already defeated.

Terraria, even without any mods, can compete with any RPG in terms of wasting time, but N Terraria turns the game into a full-fledged role-playing adventure with all its features: classes, races, level system, NPC companions and even quests. Everything is there. A great way to make an already long-lasting thing even more profound. True, the game becomes tougher than adamant, but this only makes it more beautiful.

The adventurer's essential mapping tool. An invaluable utility that pulls out the world map from your save and makes it possible to view it, allowing you to estimate the shortest path to resources. With TerraFirma you can peek at the contents of chests, look for statues, and even discover an underground desert.

Master of Terraria Conversions. Tremor, already mentioned in this list, is a great mod, even great, but Thorium is head and shoulders above it. Think new bosses, new NPCs, enemies, items, a new multiplayer healing class, new whatever-you-can-imagine - this mod improves vanilla Terraria in every way you can think of. Bosses have unique sets of attacks that tend to be ranged, making Expert Mode suitable only for the most level-headed and skilled players. Or for those who don’t mind changing keyboards/gamepads often.

Another useful utility that allows you to rummage through items: specify the location of the Terraria.plr file, and you can edit the character’s backpack, enhancing items or, if you are a sneaky deceiver, creating new things for yourself.

The utility, however, is not limited to just shiny new equipment; with its help, you can find any item from the game, and then simply drag it into your inventory. The utility is browser-based, and to launch you just need to follow the link.

Like Tremor and Thorium, this mod adds a simply wild amount of innovations to the game, both standard and unique: weapons (melee, ranged, magic), armor sets, various items and accessories. The mod is ready to boast five new types of mined ore and tiles, not to mention ten new bosses, each of which has its own set of strengths and weaknesses. Calamity may not be as sophisticated as its aforementioned counterparts, but mod creator MountainDrew regularly conducts surveys on the tModLoader page, where he collects player feedback on his innovations.

tAPI

Download

A powerful tool for creating, managing and configuring several mods at a time. A Re-Logic employee helped with its development, although the disclaimer insists that “this mod is a community creation from start to finish.”

tAPI makes it possible to combine small mods into groups that are easy to customize. Whether you want weapons from Dark Souls, a new inventory manager, or animal masks, the utility allows you to mix it all up and customize it to suit your needs.

Download

Omnir describes its Nostalgia Pack as a mod based on Final Fantasy, Tibi and . It adds over 100 new creatures, several new bosses, and a bunch of great special items. You can even fight Sauron, and this is exactly what was missing in video games.

Let me make a reservation right away: this mod requires tAPI and Grox’s Base Mod to work, but it’s worth it.

If you just want to level up while staying in vanilla Terraria, then Terraria Levelled is your choice. Apart from this function, it does very little, but the elegant interface and well-placed progress bars make using the mod a pleasure. Gear varies by level, so you won't have to grind experience for a new set of armor or a legendary sword.

Download

This mod adds new weapons, armor, and accessories to the base game. The addition includes Lihzarhd Lantern (“shoots out random laser beams”), Piranha Staff, which summons piranha pets, and Soul of Pow, which stuns enemies.

Among the unobvious additions is a huge expansion of the crafting tree. Some of the accessories are simply priceless and I recommend giving this mod a thorough look. This is another mod of the tAPI family, but it also works in solo mode, which is nice.

After a hundred hours (or so), you may start to think about changing the background music. There are many music mods for Terraria, but I personally use the excellent Wavebank, which adds classic tracks from Ocarina of Time to the game. You can find many other options on the game forum, including original compositions and original interpretations of tunes from Mario and Halo.

Installation is extremely easy. Open your Terraria contents folder, make a copy of the Wave Bank file, and store it somewhere safe. Drag the sound pack into this folder and make sure to rename it Wave Bank. Voila, the next time you start the game, it will start playing music from the pack.

This mod is already a good couple of years old, but it continues to amaze with the pace of its growth. Super Terraria World turns the game into a full-fledged RPG (the mod calls itself a “stand-alone MMORPG conversion modification”), including quests, skills, NPCs and everything else you'd expect from an RPG. The mod is ideal not only for those who want to get additional experience from playing Terraria, but also to complicate its structure.

Link

Another useful tool that doesn't actually interact with the game. This is a companion program.

Terranion is a lightweight search mode guide for Terraria that runs in the background during gameplay. Need information about a boss, where to dig for cobalt, or craft an item? You can easily find anything you want, and since the mod takes information directly from the game, it is one hundred percent correct. Make a note to run it every time you play Terraria.

2) Unpack the contents of the archive and throw it into the game folder (steam/SteamApps/Common/Terraria), confirm the replacement of all files;
3) Download the appropriate modifications from the forum pages or go to point 8 for an alternative method;
4) Launch the Terraria.exe shortcut and select “Mods” in the main menu;
5) Select the "Open Mods Folder" function - an empty mods folder will open, where you need to drop the modification files with the extension ".tmod";
6) In the main menu of mods, click the "Reload Mods" button;
7) To find out if the above worked, create a world, cut down a tree and ask the Guide to show you all the crafting recipes - you will immediately understand whether it worked or not.
8) tModLoader also allows you to download mods automatically through the Mod Browser menu, but there you will have to manually rummage through hundreds of mods, so form the downloads based on the rating.

List of modifications

Legend of Terraria 3 - adds more than 90 monsters to the game, as well as 50 drop items from these monsters (accessories, sets, all the little things). Just a small addition to the main game that will not affect the balance of the original or the performance of other additions. Most of the bestiary consists of slugs, skeletons and wolves already known to us, and the rest of the creatures do not go beyond the atmosphere of the usual game world.

The Yoyo Overload - adds about three dozen yo-yos, especially where sets already exist, but without these great weapons (for example, bee yo-yo, meteorite, pirate, etc.). Nothing special, but a very nice addition that in no way makes it worse. Most drop from monsters (bosses in particular). Some specimens have unique properties and special visual effects.

Calamity is a massive mod that adds a lot to all areas of the game's progression, which directly affects the world and balance. The main task of the mod is to make the passage more diverse thanks to additional links in the “plot” chain. The mod itself contains almost no new monsters, and also does not introduce townspeople or additional mechanics, which is why I recommend pairing it with Legend of Terraria 3.

We kill Desert Scourge in the desert before death Eyes of Cthulhu - a new type of ore will appear Aerialite in the upper layers of dungeons (you will need a pickaxe with an efficiency of about 70% or higher);
The Slime God(kill in front of the Wall of Flesh) - a new type of ore will appear Cryonic Ore in the lower layers of caves below dungeons (you will need a hardmode pickaxe);
Calamitas(kill in front of Plantera) - a new type of ore will appear Perennial Ore in the lower layers of the dungeons, above the caves (you need a Pickaxe Ax level pickaxe);
The Devourer of Gods(kill after Plantera) - a new type of ore will appear Chaotic Ore in hell (you need a Pickaxe Ax level pickaxe);
The Plaguebringer Goliath(kill after Golem) - a new type of ore will appear Uelibloom Ore in the upper layers of dungeons (you need a Picksaw level pickaxe).

Ersion - basically adds all sorts of trinkets, but also introduces a completely new mechanic... After the death of any monster, you get one soul. Once you collect enough, you can activate the book Necronomicon and assign yourself a hero class. Then all that remains is to upgrade this class by sacrificing more and more souls. In essence, this is a long-term leveling that complements the main progression of the game.
