Final fantasy xv game. What to expect from Final Fantasy XV (and will it be released on PC)

Apparently the most ardent fans of this universe could have given it an “8”, I love “Final Fantasy”, but nevertheless *SPOILERS ahead*, within the framework of the plot where your father is deprived of his life, where your beloved is lost and your kingdom with your people is taken away, riding a chocobo, catching frogs, catching fish, cooking food for a cat, looks so absurd that I can’t believe they worked on the game “7 Years”.
In my opinion one of the worst episodes"fantasies".

Boring rides of a faceless "backstreet boys" team, primitive combat, zero tactics and childish complexity with a claim to a "fresh trend in the series", a used plot. New chapter... Well, well. And everyone praises as much as they can.) It smells of creative impotence and precisely the lack of “fresh trends,” and the trends are old and smell of mold. The series has always been famous for some new role-playing system every part, with its own subtle nuances. What's here? For me personally, the game is the most boring thing I've played in a long time. The development company is facing a creative crisis. Of course, thanks for the re-release and HD remakes of the old parts, but what next? From such a giant of Japanese role-playing women you expect something grandiose, and not something “average” and “you can play for once.” You can play, but is it necessary? In this regard, the recently announced Dragon Quest XI, the brainchild of the Enixes, eaten by Skvare, somehow looks more cheerful and is already more reminiscent of a Japanese role-playing woman than FF itself. No pass, Square, no pass. Usually, after something like this is written, ardent fans and schoolchildren swoop in and bleat about the fact that I don’t understand anything. But you and I know that such stale ideas, presented in a new wrapper, can surprise only completely inexperienced gamers and those who bought a console the day before yesterday.)

A good game, with serious flaws, but a good one. Rework the mechanics of the flying car, reduce the time spent on leveling up abilities (perks), reduce the time on leveling up stamina, work out the plot in more detail after Chapter 8, otherwise everything seemed to be finished in a hurry, and only what was shown in the last trailers was worked out properly . And if all this is done, you can safely give the game +1 point, but no more. Beautiful world, but quite empty, except for 2 cities. Side tasks are boring, and it would be nice if the tasks were monotonous, it happens, but the 14 characters themselves (and the game itself counted them) who give these tasks are as flat as the chair that you sat on while doing all the side stuff in this game. I'm not even talking about the fact that some things are basically not worth doing. There is absolutely no point in collecting all the pieces of the map or going deeper dungeons.

Final Fantasy XV is a sequel to the popular third-person action RPG set in the futuristic Final Fantasy universe and is a renamed Final Fantasy Versus XIII. The game has implemented a new combat mechanics. You will only be able to fight with your own character, but you will have the opportunity to customize your party characters as needed.

The events of the game will tell the story of Noctis Lucis Caelum, heir to the kingdom of Lucis and owner of eyes that can sense the death of other people. His close friends call him Noct. The full name sounds like "Night that lights up the sky."

Genre and gameplay

Final Fantasy XV is a role-playing JRPG with a well-thought-out plot, an action combat system and a third-person view, released for PS4 and Xbox One November 29, 2016 after 10 years of development. At the time of its announcement it was known as Final Fantasy Versus XIII, but in 2013 it was renamed. Final Fantasy XV set a new direction for the franchise and is unrelated to previous games in the series.

After the release of the 8th generation consoles, Final Fantasy XV was transferred to new engine Luminous, developed by Square Enix, thanks to which the game received next-generation graphics, colorful effects, natural lighting and the play of light and shadow, a sophisticated animation system and an open game world. The game was optimized separately for each platform.

Background of the game world

Final Fantasy XV takes place in fictional world Eos, similar to modern Earth - hipster characters using gadgets and social networks, driving a hypercar and talking to artificial intelligence. However, in Eos there is magic, magical things, abilities that violate the laws of physics, and monsters - walking skeletons, dinosaurs, giants.

The open game world is large, diverse and memorable for its elaboration. All types of terrain are present: dense forests, mountains, big cities with residential and industrial areas, deserts, rivers, lakes and beaches, adjusted for fantasy. Towards the end of the story open world changes to corridor-type locations without beautiful landscapes and freedom of movement.

Story and single player mode

For a long time, a war raged between the kingdom of Lucis and its neighbors over a mysterious magical Crystal, the last one remaining in Eos. To end the wars, the King of Lucis decides to enter into a political marriage with the Kingdom of Tenebrae, marrying his son Noctis, the crown prince and protagonist of Final Fantasy XV, to Princess Lunafrea.

During the signing of a peace treaty between the kingdoms, the Crystal is unexpectedly kidnapped, and the Niflheim Empire attacks Lucis and captures the capital of the kingdom. This starts a global conflict throughout Eos, as other states also want to get the relic. This is where the plot development begins.

Noctis and a trio of friends set out on a journey across Eos to find the Crystal, bring back his lost bride, punish the invading offenders, save his kingdom and make peace with everyone. The plot focuses on the protagonist's journey with friends, overcoming obstacles and adventures together.

The single-player mode is focused on exploring the game world and completing quests; there are no enemies or monsters on every corner. The player must arrive at the point to start the quest, after which game world enemies appear. You can go wherever you want, completing minor and random tasks, or you can move along the plot. To move, the player uses a car.

Characters and races

The game has four main characters with preset skills:

  • Noctis is a new type of hero for Final Fantasy: a young man with a strong character, ready to defend his kingdom, despite the circumstances. In battle, she uses the power of the Crystal, casting various melee weapons into her hands. Can also teleport to any point on the battlefield.
  • Ignis is Noctis's childhood friend, the smartest and most educated character in the group, and helps him make the right decisions. When meeting enemies, he uses a spear or paired daggers.
  • Gladiolus is also a childhood friend, teaches Noctis the craft of war, and works as a “bouncer” on the team, because he is larger, stronger and more resilient, but is always kind to his friends. In battle he uses a two-handed sword.
  • Prompto - Noctis's school friend, not included in royal court, but is ready to help the hero. His role on the team is to hit weak points opponents by shooting from firearms.
In combat, the player uses cold and firearms, magic spells, takes attacking and defensive stances, takes cover, dodges, but without complex combinations. The battles are more like a mess; the battle mechanics do not allow you to control the crowd of mobs.

Depending on the enemies and their number, you have to choose weapons, tactics, equipment, not forgetting to retreat to restore health and mana. The player controls only Noctis, giving orders to his fellow party members.

Important Features

  • A dynamic system of day, night and weather conditions that affects gameplay.
  • Lots of challenging enemies to defeat by climbing on them or using the game environment.
  • Interesting gameplay details: characters must eat, sleep and rest, as well as have fun by cooking, fishing, relaxing or playing video games.

Final Fantasy XV (formerly known as Final Fantasy Versus XIII) is a fantasy action role-playing game from Square Enix, developed exclusively for the latter's consoles. Xbox generation One and PlayStation 4. The project is not related to previous parts of the series and is the first action film under the auspices of Final Fantasy.

According to the plot, in the world of the fifteenth part of “Final Fantasy” there is a certain magic crystal, which is located in the state of Lucis and does not allow the rest of the countries to sleep peacefully, because of this there are constant wars between them. Until now, the power of Lucis had always won the wars, since it was the most technically advanced, so the neighboring kingdom of Niflheim resorted to cunning: it proposed a peace treaty and then treacherously attacked the capital of Lucis, Insomnia, and captured the crystal. We stand for the defenders of the crystal, the young man Noctis Lucis Caelum and his friends, and go in search of the lost artifact.

In addition to the interesting plot, the main thing in the fifteenth part is still a large, seamless world that players can explore both on foot and in Noctis's car. On the way they will meet monsters, enemies from neighboring states, and various bosses. To destroy them you can use various types edged weapons and even magic. Also, it is worth noting that in current version FF has implemented a full-fledged day and night system, as well as a weather system - all this directly or indirectly affects the adventures of the players. For example, powerful monsters appear at night, and the character wants to sleep at this time; in hot or cold weather, skills will be less effective, and so on. All this sometimes complicates the passage and makes it more interesting.

At the same time, the game was in development for ten years, which means the plot and gameplay of the project were constantly changing. However, some developments that seemed to have disappeared into oblivion and were not used in the single-player version of the “final” were nevertheless used in multiplayer. Thus, in single-player mode, only one hero is available, Noctis Lucis, and the rest of the characters from his team are controlled by AI and you can only change their behavior depending on the situation; Multiplayer mode allows you to play as characters you create and the gameplay for each of them will be different.

Overall, it's hard to imagine gaming industry Without Final Fantasy, this rich series has given us a colorful universe and interesting characters, and each part is sometimes completely different from the previous one. Let's hope that this will continue to be the case and that the developers will not turn Final Fantasy into a long series of DLCs, following each other in a string.

Developers from Square Enix have repeatedly hinted at the possibility of a PC version of Final Fantasy XV, but at the last Uncovered: Final Fantasy XV event it was not even mentioned. However, after the presentation, project development director Hajime Tabata noted in an interview with Engadget that the game could be released on this platform after the release of the console versions.

“Unfortunately, we were not able to simultaneously develop the PC and console versions of Final Fantasy XV.- he said. — We were forced to focus on creating console versions and optimizing [all aspects of the game] for . When we finish development, we will certainly consider all possible options with a PC version. But at the moment we have not made a final decision yet.”

At the same time, in the official microblog of the game, the developers hinted that the PC version - if it ever appears - will support DirectX 12. "DirectX 11 is only used in console versions Final Fantasy XV, - wrote a Square Enix representative. — After the game is released on consoles, we will think about the possibility of implementing support for newer versions of DirectX on PC." The developers first hinted that the benefits of the twelfth version of this API would be used in the new part of Final Fantasy back in May 2015, showing a tech demo of Witch Chapter 0.

More rumors about the existence of a computer version of the fifteenth Final Fantasy appeared on the day of the Los Angeles event. The Gamestop retail chain placed an advertising image of the game, which can be seen on home page its online store, PC logo. Soon after users noticed it, the logo was removed, and a Square Enix representative explained that this platform was mentioned in the advertisement by mistake.

Final Fantasy XV

Update. Square Enix posted a comment to clarify what Hajime Tabata said regarding the game's expected sales: “We would like to make an important statement regarding news reports crediting Square Enix producer Hajime Tabata with saying that FINAL FANTASY XV would need to sell 10 million copies to cover the cost of yesterday's press conference in Los Angeles. We are confident that this information is only the result of a misunderstanding. In fact, Mr. Tabata said that 10 million copies sold is the goal the development team is aiming for. Mr. Tabata's remarks did not address the topic of return on investment."

"Wolf's Rain" retold by Square Enix. Personally, I see it this way.
Yes, this is not the FF we are used to seeing. I would even say that this is final fantasy from planet Earth. Yes, yes, that's right. But the game is great)
Of course I was tense at first combat system. But having sorted it out, things went smoothly. (although I never tried the standby mode) And the battles here are very spectacular, let me tell you! And what kind of summoning is this! Shiva, mmm... you'll lick your fingers))
The Russian voice acting is a particular pleasure. The guys did a simply titanic job! Indeed, the characters here are more alive than life) And they joke (Promto’s teasing alone is worth it), and they give useful tips, and just communicate on different topics.
The game world is large and very beautiful. Yes, there are border limits and invisible walls here. Well, there's nothing you can do about it.
Of the vehicles, I only liked the first form of the Regalia.
Of the girls I liked Aranea) Yes, yes, it was Aranea and not Cindy))
What I didn’t like was the low difficulty (Omega doesn’t hold a candle to its colleague from FF8) and the music (the one that plays in various parking lots and cities). Everything is fine here with the soundtracks from the previous parts.
Bottom line: it's very good game in the jrpg genre. With an interesting and thoughtful combat system, with truly living heroes, with excellent graphics and a fairly dramatic plot. But it's not really FF.

As I wrote earlier GAME OF THE YEAR. (Although maybe only for me) The plot is normal, the ending is AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA (brought a tear) is simply excellent, the missions, although not varied, are also normal. It's a shame that not all of the planned DLC will be released, but the game is great. I'm looking forward to 7, even if it's on PS4 (I'll buy it just for this occasion).

At one time I somehow missed this series of games. I've never really liked JRPGs because of how turn-based they are. Yes, and they were hits mainly on consoles (they appeared on PC, but did not make such a noise), although for example, I heard about the 9th part, but no one had it.
When this part came out, I was skeptical about it, but then I decided to go through it. Passed. And here is that same look for you, not blurred by past parts, because it didn’t play. The game is good. It’s not as good as an action RPG should be, because there are many disadvantages (such as boring side effects, sagging dynamics, rarely encountered enemies, etc.), but there is something in the game that makes you want to go through it to the end. Firstly the atmosphere. Both the ambient music and the general atmosphere of adventure and friendship between the GG and the rest of the team help in this. Secondly, very interesting story. Of course, it is very formulaic: “Here are the villains, here are the heroes, here is the princess in the castle,” but it is good in its own way. By the end, you may even shed a tear.
The game moved away from its old turn-based mechanics in favor of real-time combat. I don’t presume to judge whether this is good or bad, because again, I repeat, I haven’t played the previous parts, but I personally liked the combat.
The character leveling system is somewhat large and most of the skills will remain unused as unnecessary.
I was pleased with the abundance of motley monsters. There really are a lot of them. The heroes' skills are not particularly important, but they add atmosphere (for example, the photographs that Prompto takes throughout the game, or Ignis's cooking).
By the end of the game, even Prompto's constant whining is not so annoying.
Chocobos are awesome)
There was a desire to go through the previous parts (I wanted to do it before, but somehow the step-by-step nature scared me off).
I can give the game 4.6, because this is the same average for one time.

Every hour spent in this game simply screams of long-term construction... Defects, problems and emptiness are visible everywhere: a crooked combat system, an empty world, variable narrative dynamics, weak quests (kill, bring), a bunch of visual bugs... And so as not to die out of boredom when going through the first half of the game, I can give advice - level up to lvl 30-35 as quickly as possible and fly storyline without paying attention to side quests, you won’t lose much “content”. But the second half of the game begins to give unforgettable emotions. The plot turned out to be very emotional and tragic. After the finale, the Somnus soundtrack will never leave your head. My rating is 4.5 due to a rather weak start. I recommend it to those who love lively and well-written characters, beautiful stories and, maybe, jrpg. I highly do not recommend it to those who cannot stand the grind, Japanese...
