Update 9 19 1 training ground. Training ground

Combat training will be restarted in the format of the Training Ground - an interactive system not only for beginners, but also for those who have been in the game for a long time. The training ground is a step-by-step course that explains the basics of the game, starting with the Hangar and ending with tactics and maneuvers.

How to start:

If the player has just installed the game client, he will be asked to undergo training at the Training Grounds immediately after logging into the game for the first time. If you have been in the game for a long time, but want to refresh your knowledge, press the Esc button and select “Training Ground” in the menu.

Study pace:

The training ground gets new players up to speed without overwhelming them with information. He goes through each of the game's features in turn, explaining elements that may be challenging for newbies. The tutorial begins with mastering the basic elements of the game, followed by the Hangar interface with a range of prompts explaining how to interact with each element.

After this, players can begin mastering tactical maneuvers against bots in a series of four battles. During the first battle at the Training Grounds, players are given simple control and shooting tasks, as well as tips to help them complete these tasks. Having dealt with them, users will earn their first tank and will be able to choose one of three vehicles: T2 Medium Tank, Pz.Kpfw. 35(t) or T-26.

In the next stage, players become familiar with the mechanics of auto-aim, aiming at moving targets, and shooting in sniper mode. The role of armor is also explained at this stage. The training then continues in the Hangar, where players learn to research and purchase new modules.

The next training battle introduces players to the mini-map and the basics of detection and camouflage. There they also learn that timely capture of the base can radically change the course of the battle. They will also understand when it is necessary to attack the enemy head-on, and when a flanking maneuver will be more effective. Players then return to the Hangar and receive detailed information about the crew and their skills/abilities available for study. After completing the third stage, the player receives a 100% trained crew, and the commander will learn the “Sixth Sense” skill, informing the player that his car has been found.

The fourth part of the training is devoted to equipment. During the battle, the player's car comes under fire. He needs to repair modules and heal shell-shocked crew members in order to restore the vehicle's effectiveness in battle. Special tips will show and explain what equipment should be used in a given situation. The hangar portion of this portion of the training will explain how to acquire and install equipment, as well as cover combat missions.

Final test:

The training ground culminates in a final test that requires the player to use their acquired skills in combat, pitting the player and 14 allied bots against a team of 15 bots. If you don't win the first time, you can always try again. For successfully completing the final stage, the player will receive 500 and 3 days of premium account.

Reward:

For successfully completing the “Training Ground,” new players, as well as those who have not undergone combat training before, will receive everything they earned during the training course (two vehicles, 100% crew, experience, credits, gold, and premium account days). Those who completed training before the release of 9.19.1 will be able to go to the Training Grounds to refresh their knowledge.

The second stage of beta test for version 1.0 has already begun! It's time to join him, personally evaluate the changes and help set up the update. We'll tell you what awaits you.

Hangar. What Hangar? New animated Hangar!

The hangar has changed significantly. In fact, we simply removed the old stuffy one and invite you to move to an open-air base in the forest. Your cars will now show off in an open camp in the middle of picturesque nature.

Nearby you will see many combat vehicles, including captured ones:

  • disassembled VII Panther;
  • VIII M26 Pershing;
  • VIII T-44;
  • VII IS-2.

Tanks are what everyone is used to in the Hangar. However, there will be something in update 1.0 that you haven't seen yet!

The crew and technical staff have set up camp and are now busy with everyday chores: someone is walking along the cars, taking advantage of a rare free minute, someone is sitting by the fire, and someone is chopping wood. People take the atmosphere of the game to a new level.

NOTE: You cannot interact with crew members at this time. After all, they are busy guys with a lot of work to do: preparing for future victories is an important process. Don't distract them!

Closer than ever

In the old Hangar, you could move the camera away from the car by a maximum of 12 meters. Now this distance will increase (enough to see the giant heavy tanks of Japan in full, for example).

You will also be able to look at the equipment from a closer distance to see details that you had not noticed before.

If you remain idle for a certain period of time in the Hangar, the camera will begin to circle around the car. You can disable this option or configure its delay.

Parallax scrolling will also appear in the Hangar (that is, the screen will move with the mouse). If this effect makes you uncomfortable, you can turn it off in the settings.

Machine on stand

In the Hangar you will see the exhibition car in all its glory. It will be located behind the tank you have chosen and will change periodically. You will also be able to examine the bench machine in detail.

We ask that you test this functionality and click the Buy button to ensure it works correctly. Don't worry, you won't have to buy anything and your account won't be debited - we'll just test this feature.

Map "Calm"

Calm. The wind is silent. The graveyard of dead ships is chillingly silent while the countdown to the battle takes place. And suddenly the engines of the icy vehicles began to roar, the air began to be torn apart by the roar of tank guns, and the grinding of metal and the impact of shrapnel on the armor seemed to revive the skeletons of sea giants. What about the wind? He is still silent and watches the endless fight on the new map “Calm”.

All this awaits you on the atmospheric new map “Calm”, which we have all been waiting for for many years. It will take you to the icy desert of Scandinavia, where tank battles will take place in the middle of a warship graveyard. The remains of once formidable battleships and an aircraft carrier will become the arena for fierce battles.

Sound: feel the melody

New music for World of Tanks was recorded by the Prague Symphony Orchestra and is designed to create a unique atmosphere for each map. Drawing inspiration from all over the world, we composed musical themes, each corresponding to a different region. These compositions contain hidden references to the background of all combat locations. Let's see if you can spot them!

WoT: enCore

Do you want to see everything for yourself, but there is no way to download the entire client? You can do this with enCore. This program will allow you to test your system and see how the 1.0 update works on it.

List of changes in the second test version 1.0 relative to the first test 1.0

New Hangar

  • The hangar is made using new Core graphics technologies.
  • Animated characters have been added to the Hangar.
  • New camera in the Hangar:
    • The camera's minimum and maximum zoom distance depends on the size of the selected vehicle.
    • The distance the camera travels when zooming in/out (when scrolling the mouse wheel) has been changed.
    • Added parallax effect when rotating the camera. This effect can be disabled in the Settings menu in the Game tab.
    • If you are idle in the Hangar, the camera will begin to independently rotate around the vehicle you selected. The rotation start time can be set in the “Settings” menu in the “Game” tab. You can also turn off rotation there.
  • A vehicle offered for purchase has been added to the Hangar. It is placed in the background behind the tank that the player has chosen. To switch to this machine, you need to hover the cursor over it and click the left mouse button. In the preview window of the proposed equipment, you can study its characteristics, evaluate its appearance and crew composition. And when you click on the “Buy” button, go to the Premium Store to purchase this car.

Music and sound

Each card received its own musical accompaniment, including:

  • the main theme for the loading screen, which plays when loading a battle and pre-battle report;
  • two combat interactive tracks based on the main theme, which can sound almost endlessly without repeating themselves in the arrangement;
  • three final themes for the battle results screen: wins, draws and losses.

The specified musical accompaniment is unique for each map in the game.

A completely new musical design has appeared for the Hangar, including music on the interim battle waiting screen.

The appearance of the splash screen on the login screen and its music have been updated.

Graphics and effects changes

Added a new winter map “Calm” (immediately in HD quality).

  • New water has been added to all maps. Now it is different: calm lakes, moving rivers, sea waves, etc.
  • New effects have been added to all maps: large fires, waterfalls, burning grass, sweeping sand, rocket fire, bees, butterflies, fluff, ash, etc.
  • Added realistic tracers.
  • All the effects of the equipment have changed: movement, exhaust, fire, detonation of ammunition.
  • The effects of projectiles hitting different types of surfaces have been completely redesigned: more details, flying sparks and debris have been added.
  • Track tracks have become more voluminous, and realistic skid marks have been added.
  • Realistic and three-dimensional traces from shell hits on vehicles have been improved and added. The decals now have volume, and the texture and material of the metal are more accurately and physically correctly conveyed thanks to the Physically Based Shading (PBS) technology.
  • The “hot air” effect has been added to all exhausts, explosions, shots and fires. It also appeared on desert maps as a moiré pattern on the horizon.
  • Vehicles now interact realistically with water: water deformation, foam, and shock waves have been added to all effects of vehicles moving through water, as well as the effects of shots and shells hitting water.
  • Deformation of grass and bushes: now the car crushes the grass when moving, and when fired and explosions, plants naturally react to the shock wave.
  • Smoke and dust cloud effects now cast shadows on the ground.
  • All debris in destruction effects has been reworked: now they are more voluminous and detailed due to correct lighting and normal maps.

Other innovations

You can now customize the appearance and brightness of the red line that marks the map's boundaries. This can be done in the “Settings” menu by selecting “Information in battle” and then “Map border”.

Training ground

The mode has been completely transferred to HD maps (including Hangar).

Battle loading screens have been updated.

Made minor difficulty adjustments.

Improved behavior of AI-controlled vehicles.

Added new notifications when shooting at enemy vehicles, which include:

notification of damage to the enemy;

notifications about ricochet and damage blocked by armor;

critical damage notification.

In update 9.19.1, combat training will be restarted in the format of the Training Ground - an interactive system not only for beginners, but also for those who have been in the game for a long time. The training ground is a step-by-step course that explains the basics of the game, starting with the Hangar and ending with tactics and maneuvers.

Today we're bringing you a quick look at the new Combat Training, where we'll tell you how it'll help newcomers and what those looking to brush up on their knowledge will find at the Training Grounds. Let's go!

How to get started

If the player has just installed the game client, he will be asked to undergo training at the Training Grounds immediately after logging into the game for the first time. If you have been in the game for a long time, but want to refresh your knowledge, click the button Esc and select “Training Ground” from the menu:

Those who completed training before the release of 9.19.1 will be able to go to the Training Grounds to refresh their knowledge.

When creating Training Grounds, we tried to put ourselves in the shoes of each player in order to discover all the points that may seem unclear. We hope that the new combat training will help you master the game, and we are waiting for your feedback and suggestions. Work on the Training Ground continues, we are adding new combat missions and tips in the Hangar. Come to the forum and share your impressions!

Video walkthrough of the training ground:

Dear players, on June 23 at 00:05 (Moscow time), the general test server version 9.19.1 was stopped due to technical work. We will inform you separately about the completion of the work.

The general test of update 9.19.1 is now available and contains many improvements and innovations. Get to know them, test them and share your opinion on the forum.

In this version we focused on tweaking the core elements of the game based on your feedback on 9.18. Continue to share your thoughts on the forum: thanks to the experience gained in battle, your assessment of innovations is very important to us. Among other things, this version will also add new combat training (“Training Ground”) and 13 vehicle models, redesigned in HD quality. And now first things first.

Balancer

Platoons. Starting with update 9.18, artillery could no longer be platooned. This limitation was temporary, we introduced it to better understand the global changes to the self-propelled gun class: to study the impact of the updated artillery on battles and to collect your feedback. There were a lot of comments - we analyzed them and the collected statistics and are returning the ability for self-propelled guns to play in a platoon, limiting the number of artillery to one vehicle per platoon.

Balance within one level in the team list. Before the release of 9.18, players often complained about the balancer creating teams with significant differences. We decided to deal with this problem step by step, because it cannot be solved at once. In version 9.18, there are much fewer poorly balanced teams, thanks to the fact that tank destroyers began to be taken into account when assembling teams. Most players spoke positively about the maximum difference between teams in one vehicle for self-propelled guns, light tanks and tank destroyers.

However, this was not enough to finally resolve the issue with the balancer. For example, a Tier X tank in one team was balanced by a Tier VIII light tank in another, and the teams found themselves in unequal conditions.

In update 9.19.1 this problem will be solved: we have added new logic for balancing team compositions by vehicle type and platoons within each vehicle tier. Each time when creating a battle, the balancer will strive for the same number of tank destroyers, light tanks, self-propelled guns and platoons for each level. For example, if one of the teams has one tank destroyer at the top of the list, two light tanks in the middle of the list, and one self-propelled gun at the bottom, then the enemy team’s equipment should be distributed across vehicle classes in the same way. However, if this type of vehicle selection takes too long, the restrictions will be relaxed to get players into battle faster.

Sorting equipment in the “team ears” is a “cosmetic” change that will not affect the gameplay, but will make it easier for you to navigate the battle and plan your own actions before it starts. You will be able to quickly analyze the composition of your own and enemy teams and plan actions at the beginning of the battle. The list starts with heavy tanks. Below are medium tanks, followed by tank destroyers, light tanks and self-propelled guns. Cars belonging to the same type are sorted by name. First come the names starting with numbers, then written in Latin, and then in Cyrillic.

"Training Ground"

In the coming versions, new training functionality will be added, which we will introduce in several stages, starting with update 9.19.1. In this version, the “Training Ground” will be available. We plan to introduce other additional educational elements later.

The first phase of the tutorial introduces new players to the basic mechanics of the game through a series of four tutorial battles. They explain the basics of the game and tactics for different maps and battle situations in the form of tips. To make the process go smoothly, the “Training Ground” gradually introduces players to the Hangar interface.

At the same time, the player is shown a clear sequence of actions when preparing the vehicle for battle. First, he learns the basics: studying and purchasing vehicle modules, operating equipment, shooting, types of ammunition, causing critical damage, crew training, operation of equipment and equipment. Throughout the entire learning process, the user receives detailed information about the elements that are most relevant at the current stage.

The training ends with the final task - a full-scale 15 vs 15 battle, in which the player, along with 14 bots, faces off against an enemy team of 15 bots. These are not ordinary bots - we have worked much deeper into their logic.

Combat Training is more than just training: players will also receive credits, experience, equipment, equipment and premium account days. Upon completion of training, new users will receive 500 - this is enough, for example, to dismantle equipment multiple times.

NOTE: Training Grounds is also available for experienced players. However, only new players will receive the resources provided for completing it. If you have previously completed “Combat Training” and received a reward for it, there will be no rewards for completing the “Training Ground”.
Changes to LBZ conditions

In update 9.19.1, the conditions of some personal combat missions will change. After the improved balancer was introduced, they became much more difficult to complete. We took your feedback into account and changed the terms to match the current realities of the game. Thank you for your help!

Discussion on the World of Tanks forum

List of changes to the general test 9.19.1 as opposed to version 9.19

Polish nation

The Polish Tier VI premium medium tank Pudel has been added to the game. From the vehicle description: “The vehicle is an example of the most widespread modification of the German Panther-Pz.Kpfw tank. V Panther Ausf.G. Two German tanks Panther Ausf.G. were captured by the Poles on August 2, 1944 during the Warsaw Uprising. The rebels applied national colors and other emblems to the vehicles, which is a distinctive element of the tank in the game. The tank became known under the nickname “Poodle” (originally Pudel). Used in street fighting."

In connection with the introduction of the tank, the following will also be added to the game:

  • Polish nation - in the nation search filter on the vehicle panel;
  • national crew (at the time of release there will be only male voice acting for the crew) with ranks, insignia and passport details;
  • Polish camouflage patterns, emblems and inscriptions;
  • national equipment “Bread with lard”.

Polish nation Not will be added to the research tree.

Training ground

Added functionality for beginners and players who want to improve their skills - “Training Ground”, which will replace the existing “Combat Training” in the game. The briefing at the training ground will tell you about the main nuances of the game: control of equipment, conditions for winning a battle, detection of penetration zones for equipment, operation of the visibility system, purchasing and improving equipment, managing the crew, equipment and equipment. The mode will be available to beginners when they first enter the game, and to experienced players - in the menu by clicking the button Esc.

The mechanism for the operation of armor penetration indicators in the sight has also been redesigned.

Fortified areas 1.6

In the Fortified Area, the room commander in Offensives has the opportunity to indicate the direction of movement of forces on the mini-map even before the battle with mouse clicks. These instructions will be seen by all players who are in the battle room.

Balancer changes

  • Balance within one level. Within one level, the number of imbalances in the number of light tanks, tank destroyers, self-propelled guns and platoons will be reduced. So, for example, there will be fewer battles where light tanks are at the top of the list in one team and at the bottom of the list in the other.
  • Added the ability to invite self-propelled guns to a platoon (but not more than one unit).
  • The sorting of vehicles (within one level) in player panels by class has been changed. New order: heavy tanks, medium tanks, tank destroyers, light tanks, self-propelled guns. Within one type, equipment is sorted alphabetically.

Changes to crew stun mechanics

  • Added convenient drawing of the allied artillery sight marker on top of objects and bridges.
  • Damage inflicted by allies using artillery on a stunned enemy is now included in the calculation of the distinctive marks on the weapon. Now this damage is also taken into account, as well as damage to a downed track or damage based on intelligence, as well as damage inflicted directly on the enemy vehicle.
  • The conditions for receiving the “Medal of Horus” award have been changed: now, to receive it, it is enough to inflict 2000 units of damage to opponents and not damage allies.
  • In the battle information settings, the ability to separately configure the display of total damage tapes for a target you have stunned has been added.
  • Changed the camera settings in the alternative aiming mode (view from the trajectory). The camera's sensitivity to small irregularities has been reduced.
