Qualification League

This is something between the Open and Premier Leagues. It was created for those who are not interested in the first and who want to increase their chances of participating in the second.

In the Qualification League, six tournaments are held every day, starting from the first day of each month. Their schedule is as follows (time indicated in Moscow):

  • 02:00;
  • 06:00;
  • 10:00;
  • 14:00;
  • 18:00;
  • 22:00.

Qualification League tournaments are paid. You must pay a $1.1 buy-in and also pass the Basic Course exam, which will give you a ticket that gives you access to the Qualifying League. The amount of the prize fund in these tournaments is affected by the number of players, since the fund is made up of buy-ins. In addition, the top 200 players in the Qualifying League will earn a ticket to next month's Premier League tournament, provided they have earned at least 20 VPPs during the month.

Examples of ways to get tickets to the Premier League

So, we've talked about the three PokerStarter Poker School leagues and how to get into each of them. Next, we will look at several specific situations to reinforce the information described above. Using examples, we will look at ways to get tickets to the Premier League.

1. In May, Player A was in the Open League and finished 450th with 17 VPP. Despite finishing in the top 500 on the leaderboard, he will not qualify for the Premier League in June because he did not earn 20 VPPs.

2. Player B was in the Open League in September and became 601st with 25 VPP points. Although he earned enough points to qualify for the Premier League, he did not finish in the top 500 on the leaderboard and is ineligible for the Premier League in October.

3. Player C was in the Premier League in February and finished 450th, earning 1,300 VPP. Thus, he qualifies for the Premier League for next month, since all the conditions for this are met.

4. Player D was in the Premier League in January and took first place, earning only 7 VPP points. Despite winning the race, he does not qualify for the Premier League for next month, as the points requirement has not been met.

5. Player E was in the Open League in August and took 510th place, earning 21 VPP points. At the same time, of those players who were in the top 500, 10 people failed to score 20 VPP points. This means that player E qualifies for the next month's Premier League, as tickets are given to lower placed players if they complete required quantity points.
