It is now possible to transfer personal data.

Microsoft has already pleased the owners Xbox consoles One fresh autumn update. It brought a lot of positive changes and improvements, but the developers have a few more tricks up their sleeves. Microsoft will release another big update this year. With it, the console will receive several very large and important changes.

Backwards compatible with Xbox gamesO.G.. In two years, backward compatibility with games from the Xbox 360 has become one of the most beloved and most popular features on the Xbox One (here you can joke about the fact that there is nothing to play on the Xbox One itself, so they made it possible to play games from the Xbox 360). Now Microsoft is going to “close” the ecosystem and make sure that users can play on modern Xbox One at any games ever released on Xbox of any generation.

Compatibility with games from the first Xbox will be implemented in the same way as from the Xbox 360. The user can play from a physical disc or a digital copy. In addition, games can be purchased directly on Xbox One. So far, only Fuzion Frenzy and Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge have been officially confirmed. Of course, original list will include dozens of games and then grow to several hundred. The BC list now includes more than 400 titles.

Of course, in games from Xbox OG the graphics will be very primitive by modern standards, and the aspect ratio in the vast majority will be 4:3. No one will fix this, but this is more of a plus than a minus. Nostalgia, whatever.

Phil Spencer recently confirmed that backward compatibility with games from the first Xbox will appear before the end of this year.

New avatar system. Xbox Live avatars were a major addition to the social aspect of the Xbox 360, but time moves on and it's time to remake the system. At E3 this year, Microsoft announced a complete redesign of Xbox Live avatars, but it is not yet included in the Xbox One fall update.

Updated avatars will allow players to more accurately express their essence, as well as create an avatar that best matches the player behind it. It will be possible to make a pregnant avatar, an avatar in a wheelchair or with a prosthesis. No one will be left out of the party.

Games as a gift. In the near future, digital gifting will become an integral part of Xbox Live and Windows 10. The purchasing process will be the same, only the game will not be added to your collection, but to the game set of the user you want to gift the toy to. While the store still doesn't have a shopping cart or wishlist functionality, the gift system would be a big addition, greatly improving the console experience and social features on it.

Currently, a limited number of Insiders can give away games through the Microsoft Store on pre-release builds of Xbox One firmware.

What additions and improvements would you like to see in the next Xbox update? One? Tell us about it in the comments.

Current Xbox players can keep their existing gamertags without any further action required and no change in experience. There will be no difference in how your gamertag is presented unless you want to create a new account or change your existing gamertag.

You decide what’s OK and what isn’t in the text-based messages you receive across Xbox Live. Now you can filter messages, with four levels to choose from – Friendly, Medium, Mature, and Unfiltered.

To set a filter, go to Settings > General > Online safety & family > Privacy & online safety and select Message safety. Whenever you receive a message that’s beyond your safety setting, it’ll be replaced with a placeholder. Adult accounts can choose whether or not to see content that’s been filtered.

Better Mixer viewing

We’re now giving you the ability to orient the Mixer chat to the left side of your screen, to the right side, or to hide it altogether.

Simplified settings

With this update, Settings is getting a new look. The menu has been condensed and reorganized, with commonly used settings at the top, improving navigation and discoverability.

Voice-to-text dictation

Dictation is expanding with support for more languages, including English (U.S. and Canada), English (India), English (UK), Spanish (Mexico), Spanish (Spain), French (Canada), French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese, with more to come in future updates.

With a headset or Kinect, press the View button whenever the keyboard is on the screen to start converting speech to text. To change preferences from your regional default, head to Settings > System > Language & location to select your keyboard & dictation language.

Play later lets you make a list of games for you to come back to on your time. Manage your collection from your Xbox console or the Game Pass mobile app and download your games when you’re ready.

Friends list shows where your friends are playing

We’ve added icons in your friends list for other platforms your friends are currently playing on. These icons will only appear for the platforms you’re not currently viewing the friends list on. For example, if you’re signed in to Xbox One, you’ll see icons for friends signed in to their PC or mobile device, and your friends will see an icon in their friends list that you’re on Xbox One.

Message requests

Better sorting in My games & apps

We’ve made it simpler to find the content you’re looking for. In My games & apps, titles will no longer contain articles such as "a," "an," or "the" when you use the Sort A-Z or Group by letter views. For example, " The Witcher" will now be found under "W" instead of "T."

The first new feature, Arena, is a tournament feature that allows you to launch and manage competitions on your console. The World of Tanks tournament on Xbox, organized by ESL, is at the forefront of the planet. Arena allows players to follow and participate in similar events for other games, provides direct access to matches and reports on the results of competitions.

The second is custom player avatar pictures. You can now update your Xbox Live profile information from Xbox One, Windows 10 PC, or any phone and add your favorite pictures. Microsoft has stated that the feature will be rolled out with delays after extensive testing to ensure it works as intended. I wonder how they are going to deal with obscenity.

The third addition appeared on the Xbox user profile view page. A button to connect to the broadcast has been added to the player profile. Additionally, each player's profile displays Arena tournament history and upcoming scheduled tournaments.

There are also some updates coming to the Activity Feed, allowing you to favorite or hide unwanted messages.

Added the “Copilot” function, which allows you to combine two controllers into one virtual one. This function is positioned by the company as a big step towards popularizing gaming services among children, providing the opportunity for assistance when playing, as well as an undeniable advantage for people with disabilities.

In connection with the implementation of these functions will be updated Xbox apps for Windows 10 and mobile phones. Now, when connecting to a team from a tablet, you can select the audio input and output to headphones or speakers. Clubs and group search are getting a number of additions.

All of these changes are currently available to alpha and beta testers of the Xbox Insiders program and will roll out to the next tiers of the program over the next few weeks. The introduction of new functions into general access is planned in May.

  • Fixes an issue where installed new apps might not launch until the console is restarted
  • Fixed a bug that caused the Blu-Ray player to indicate that the disc's audio format is not supported and to solve the problem you need to close the application and start it again

However, part known issues V current version Xbox One dashboard issues are still not resolved. Let's hope that they will be eliminated based on the testing results.
