Communication blocking

Communication bans are used for inappropriate behavior while communicating on Xbox Live. Force Gamertag Changes

When you force a Gamertag change, the affected account is automatically assigned a new Gamertag in much the same way as you assign a system-generated Gamertag when you sign up for an Xbox Live subscription.

If a player is unhappy with their assigned Gamertag and wishes to change it, they can purchase a new Tag by following the standard Gamertag Change procedure. However, the forced gamertag will remain unavailable.

A gamertag may be forced to change if it looks or sounds similar, suggestive, is an abbreviation, or otherwise resembles any of the following.

obscene language and obscene expressions;
sexually explicit themes or content;
aggressive statements;
discussions on controversial religious issues;
discussion of persons or organizations of disrepute;
discussion of contemporary and historical events of a sensitive nature;

Locking Privileges

On Xbox One and Xbox for Windows, privileges are used to determine what you can and can't do on each account on Xbox Live. Privileges may be suspended if an account is associated with abuse of a specific Xbox Live feature or Code of Conduct violations, but this does not necessarily result in a permanent account suspension.
