Fallout 4 how to best distribute. How to get armor and make it better

Successful leveling up your character in Fallout 4– this is the key to an interesting and successful game. But how to upgrade your character in Fallout 4 so that they are really interested and comfortable to play?

Everyone's idea of an ideal character is different, depending on what style of play they prefer. Some people prefer a sociable character, so they most often invest a large number of points in developing the charisma and perception skill. Many people like to walk through the wasteland and shoot enemies left and right, in which case it is best to pay attention to the development of the character’s strength, perception and agility, and also improve the corresponding perks, for example, “fan of big guns”.

When you already have a rough idea of your character, it will be much easier for you to model his development in the future. At the very beginning of the game, you can only choose the appearance of the character, but after you leave the cryogenic capsules and Vault 111, you can start leveling up.

To get your first skills, return to your home. In Sean's room, find the children's book S.P.E.C.I.A.L. In this book, distribute points according to your taste between 7 skills (Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Dexterity and Luck, more about skills). In total, you are given 21 points, which must be wisely distributed between 6 skills. In order to develop a skill 100%, you need to invest ten points into it, and you only have 21.

Leveling up in Fallout 4 is not something difficult, so it's okay if you allocated points a little wrong. As you progress through the game and level up your character, you can always add the missing points to one or another skill, as well as discover tedious perks.

On some gaming forums they write that in order to play comfortably, you need to initially set aside these 21 points according to a certain pattern. Most often, such leveling guides may be suitable for a novice player who is just getting acquainted with the game. Here's the approximate formula for distributing points:

  1. Strength 3, in the very first stages it is not so important, since in the first stages it is better for you to avoid hand-to-hand combat.
  2. Perception 4, set to intermediate level, so that if necessary you can quickly remove the enemy in VATS.
  3. Endurance 3, in the first stages you will not have to run much, but over time it is desirable to improve this indicator.
  4. Charisma 5, we pay special attention to it, since initially our character will be weak and we will have to settle the issues peacefully.
  5. Intelligence 6, you need to set it to a high value to gain experience faster during the game.
  6. Dexterity 5 is needed to control the character comfortably at first.
  7. Luck 2, this parameter is responsible for the probability of a critical hit on the enemy, which is why it is so important.

This article provides tips that will help not only a beginner, but also an experienced player of the post-nuclear world of Fallout 4. • Cores and Power armor -

You won't get very far if you try to level up by killing radroaches and molerats all day. Follow the tips below to get a stable increase in XP points and quickly increase your character's level.

Since in heart of Fallout 4 is an RPG system, which means that your character's development is closely linked to experience points. For all actions in the game, the hero receives experience points (XP) - for destroying adversaries, opening locks on doors and safes, cracking passwords on terminals, opening new locations, crafting, successful persuasion and, of course, for completing quests. Therefore, to obtain the largest number XP points, you need to slightly adjust the system to suit you.

Go through the early stages of the game with the Savant perk

The Savant perk is ideal for getting the maximum possible increase in experience points already at the early levels of the game. This talent is associated with Luck and rewards the hero with a three- or five-fold increase in XP for any action. Unfortunately, this happens randomly, so increasing experience points is not always guaranteed.

And by leveling up your Savant to level three, you can get three times the experience for killings:

And if this is not so important when killing cockroaches and picking simple locks, then when receiving a reward for a quest you lose a significant share of precious experience points. Therefore, you must save before each time you receive a quest reward.

If the quest giver gives you a reward without a three- or five-time bonus to points, reboot and try again until your hero gets the desired increase. Please note that this perk works more effectively if your hero has low Intelligence. The lower the Intelligence, the higher the likelihood of receiving a bonus to the purchased XP points.

It is also necessary to save all development points received for each level increase. Decide whether you need a specific perk or whether you should invest everything in Intelligence a little later: after all, you can’t run through the entire game as an idiot.

The negative side here is that without a sufficient level of Intelligence development, you will not be able to take perks such as “Gun Fanatic”, “Hacker” and “Science!”. Fortunately, these losses can be partially compensated. For example, some of yours can pick locks or computers for you.

Completing third-party quests

Fallout 4 is full of side quests that never end. So, if, you can take tasks from the scribe Heylin and the knight Reese, who are located at the Cambridge police station. One quest giver sends you to new locations to clear them, the other sends you to conduct reconnaissance and bring unique electronic devices (they contain nothing useful for the player).

These missions are simple and monotonous, but the character will receive XP points for killing, exploring new locations and completing tasks in one place at once!

The same applies to the repeated tasks from Minuteman Preston Garvey to protect settlements from raiders, super mutants and shooters, as well as free captured residents. Thus, after spending a couple of hours completing both groups of such tasks, you can easily raise a couple of levels.

Mid-game - time to raise your Intelligence!

Of course, you are free not to do this, but the higher your hero’s Intelligence, the more XP points he gets. Therefore, it makes sense to start leveling up Intelligence after developing all ranks of the “Savant” perk.

Closer to higher levels, quests will also provide greater rewards. And in order not to miss out on rare experience points, it is recommended to invest at least 5 development points in Intelligence.

Earning experience points on the repeatable quest “Learning Curve”

After you have become a member of the Brotherhood of Steel and, the paladin Dance will call you to the Prydwen airship. Go with him to the Brotherhood of Steel aircraft and you will be introduced to the rest of the faction members and their leader, Elder Maxson.

On the main deck of Privden you will also meet Proctor Quinlan. In addition to searching technical documentation, he will ask you to join the research patrol.

You need to agree to help him, and then he will give you a repeating quest “Learning Curve”, from which you can greatly benefit by completing it as follows.

Developers Fallout 4 from Bethesda in its new game We completely redesigned the character leveling system and made it much simpler. If during times In Fallout 3, we talked about how to properly “boost” a character, but now it’s more correct to talk about which starting build is better to choose. This article will be devoted to this topic.

How to choose the best starting character build for Fallout 4?

Initial information

Although in In Fallout 4 there is no one true and universal build; moreover, almost all options will be playable, right choice initial investment in S.P.E.C.I.A.L. - the capabilities of your character are still very important point game mechanics. Almost all mistakes made during character development in the “prologue” can be corrected, but this is a long process and you may encounter certain inconveniences.

Fallout 4 offers its owners seven main character parameters: strength (S), perception (P), endurance (E), charisma (C), intelligence (I), agility (A) and luck (L) - the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. system. Each parameter has 10 levels for pumping, as well as 10 types of perks that have their own levels. The level of the ability and the selected perk affect gameplay. There are three main ways to strengthen your character: first, you can complete quests, kill enemies and receive experience points for this; secondly, you can collect various magazines; and thirdly, look for the so-called “dolls”.

Now let's talk about the relationship between investing in stat points and investing in perks. For example, a character with upgraded intelligence receives more experience than all other branches, and the “Alternatively Gifted” perk will allow you to receive 3-5 times more experience for any action than usual, but this is only if you have not upgraded the “intelligence” branch. Various natural comparisons suggest that if you have not leveled up your intelligence above level 4, then you should definitely take the “alternatively gifted” perk and, conversely, with high intelligence, it will be irrational:

Another useful branch in terms of XP gained is charisma. The fact is that for a successful high difficulty persuasion you can get the same amount of experience as for killing a Deathclaw or a mutant Behemoth! IN world of Fallout 4 there are quite a few places where you will need persuasion, so charisma is an extremely useful character stat.

You just need to remember that it determines the chance of success and you can, having made two successful convictions of high complexity, fail a conviction of low complexity and vice versa. For full success, you will have to replay the dialogues, but you can pump up certain perks in order to gain some advantage in conversations with women or men, and, therefore, reload less often.

Here are the improvements the seven abilities of the main character bring:

  • Strength (S): increases the carried load, melee attack power, and also allows you to improve armor (perks “Gunsmith” and “Blacksmith”);
  • Perception (P): Increases weapon accuracy in V.A.T.S. allows them to capture more targets. The perk is ideal for burglars and snipers;
  • Endurance (E): Increases health and reduces damage taken from ranged, laser, or explosive attacks;
  • Charisma (C): allows you not only to persuade characters you meet, reduces prices in stores, but also gives you the ability to command NPCs and take control of them, including Deathclaws!
  • Intelligence (I): In addition to increasing the total amount of XP received, it opens up the possibility of upgrading conventional and high-tech weapons, allows you to hack terminals, control robots, and also saves the consumption of nuclear charges necessary for power armor. Rightfully the most important ability in the game, and its perk “Nerd's Frenzy” will repeatedly save your life, and make your enemies spread across the floor;
  • Agility (A): gives more action points in VATS and is useful for those who want to use the art of gun-kata like a ninja in the night;
  • Luck (L): Increases the chance of critical damage, the chance of your enemies dying from various stupid reasons, increases the chance of finding more ammo and caps on the battlefield.
Separately, we would like to note that, unlike its predecessors, Fallout 4 will not punish the player if he chooses 10 out of 10 ability points at the beginning of the game, since in the future it will “add” another 1 point for the “doll”.

First, let's talk about options that are not tailored to any specific weapon or playing style, that is, you can use them for your game as you wish.

Thank you for your attention!

This guide will help the Fallout 4 player modify any weapon to suit his playing style. The modification process can be very addictive, so here we have tried to reflect all the points that need to be taken into account to create cool guns.

As an example for this guide, we chose the familiar 10 mm pistol, which main character picked up as the first firearm in Vault 111 shortly after his awakening from 200 years of suspended animation. All other weapons in the game are upgraded in exactly the same way; the differences are only in the names of the parts and their characteristics. Some modifications that the pistol does not have are shown in the example of carbines.

It is worth noting that at first the list of available modifications is extremely small - below you will understand why, because of this, you should not pay all the attention to crafting weapons at the beginning of the game. In some places it is easier to kill enemies and take equipment from them.

Perks

Crafting system Fallout weapons 4 is directly subordinated to three perks, each of which allows you to modify the corresponding weapons:

  1. The Blacksmith perk is required to modify melee weapons. Third maximum level You can get this skill only at level 29 of character development.
  2. The “Weapon Fanatic” perk is needed to modify small arms. It has 4 levels, the last of which opens only when your character reaches development level 39;
  3. Perk "Science!" needed to create high-tech modifications for all types of weapons. Your intelligence must be at least 6, and the last fourth level of this perk is unlocked only when you reach level 41;

So don't expect to create a cool supergun a few hours after. Some modifications are only available on high levels corresponding perks:

As you can see, I cannot modify the sword because I do not have the required Blacksmith level. By the way, this Shem Drawn sword was found at: an easy way to get a lot of caps.

Therefore, it is important to take weapons from killed enemies, and remove modifications from them that are not yet available to you for installation on your guns (we will tell you how to remove them below). And the barrel itself should be disassembled for parts.

Before you have access to mods for your arsenal, you need to complete a number of actions, as well as obtain a certain amount of resources for crafting.

Weapon workbench

It is necessary to upgrade your weapons. To gain access to it, it is necessary to save several people, led by Preston Garvey, who will settle in Sanctuary Hills. Until this point, you cannot interact with weapon workbenches. After completing the quest, opposite your former home A workshop for construction, as well as workbenches for armor and weapons, will become available in Sanctuary Hills. Similar equipment is available at the Red Rocket truck stop adjacent to the settlement.

Go to the weapon workbench and select the "Use" button. A window will open that shows your weapon inventory. This will allow you to select one of the weapons for modification, as well as for dismantling for parts or renaming: all available options are listed at the bottom of the screen. It makes sense to rename the weapon so that there are no names like mine in the picture below with the Gauss carbine (and this is not the longest name):

On the left side of the screen you can see the current characteristics of the weapon, and on the right - a list of available modifications. Weapons with legendary properties are marked with an asterisk, such as increased damage, faster recovery of action points, etc. It can only be obtained by taking it from corpses legendary opponents. Ranged weapons are inextricably linked with these properties, and melee weapons can be removed with a unique property and will be available as a modification in your inventory.

Components

To create any modifications to a weapon, you need a set of certain components. For example, in order for a 10mm pistol to cause normal damage, it needs to replace the receiver with a reinforced one. This will require aluminum, bolts, glue, oil and gears:

How better mod, the greater the number of necessary components required for its installation. It is best to start mining and collecting the necessary materials from the very beginning of the game, recycling every item you come across, and continue to do this throughout the game. IN certain moment you will understand which elements you should always take, and which ones are easier to buy from merchants. You need to accumulate a solid supply of the necessary materials, otherwise you will not be able to make even the most minor modification.

The more complex the modification, the more rare components it will require. Therefore, always collect the following components that are needed to upgrade guns: bolts, aluminum, gold, lead, copper, glue, crystals, nuclear material, rubber, wiring, optical fiber and fiberglass. Other components like steel, springs and gears will appear in your possession during the game if you pay any attention to crafting.

To make the process of collecting components easier, you can take the “Junk Collector” perk, which allows you to obtain rare elements when disassembling armor and weapons. And be sure to collect everything from defeated robots and turrets!

Modification slots

Modification slots are various modules that you can replace on your weapon. Here is the slots window using the example of our 10mm friend, which displays the mods installed on the pistol:

On the right you see a list of options for modifying a standard receiver. Click the "Modify" button to view full list mods. Modifications increase not only the cost of the weapon, but also its weight (with the exception of installing lightweight components).

Receiver

The receiver is the heart of your weapon, and thanks to the options available in Fallout 4, its appearance can undergo dramatic changes. For example, you can change the standard receiver to a lightweight version, which will reduce weight and damage.

Of course, for lovers of lethal weapons, this is not the most interesting option, so you can pay attention to a reinforced receiver, which can double the damage dealt, but this will increase the mass. Of course, to craft an enhanced receiver, you need to prepare a number of necessary resources and meet the necessary conditions for character development indicated on the right side of the screen.

Trunk

Here, even without explanation, it is clear what detail we are talking about. Modifying the barrel affects the firing range and accuracy of the weapon. And, as you may have experienced in the first few quests in Fallout 4, keeping your distance from the enemy is key to survival. Therefore, our specimen is equipped with a long, lightweight barrel, which improves the accuracy of hitting a target, as well as the game value.

This guide is not about creating the coolest gun in the wasteland, so before adding a modification, look carefully - perhaps in the middle of the list there is exactly the modification that is ideal for.

Lever

Changing the shape and material of the handle leads to a change in the accuracy and weight of the product. For our pistol, a tactical grip was chosen as the most functional.

For all the weapons in the game, this will be the optimal choice.

Shop

The only external change is a larger magazine. By choosing a large quick-release magazine, you will get a high reload speed with an increased number of rounds in the clip. The weight of the weapon will also increase.

All previous versions of stores combine parts of this modification. This rule applies to any weapon in Fallout 4.

Aim

When modifying a pistol sight, it changes appearance and shooting accuracy. And the scout sight marks targets and displays them visually and on the radar at the bottom of the screen.

On long barrels you can also install sights of various magnifications and sights with night vision (they are useless during the day - you simply cannot see anything in them).

Choke tube

The absence or presence of various devices on the muzzle of the barrel affects the firing range, accuracy and weight of the weapon. Thus, the use of a silencer is ideal for covert use, but the firing range is seriously affected. You can also install a muzzle brake or compensator, which will allow you to achieve improved accuracy values. In any case, it is advisable to have at least one weapon equipped with a silencer in your inventory, since in wastelands there are often situations when it is more profitable to shoot everyone covertly than to attack head-on.

Carbines and shotguns can also be equipped with a bayonet, which increases damage in close combat:

When it comes to weapon modification, it's worth spending a lot of time learning how the system works and what interesting modifications you can put together. But since you have to obtain resources for crafting yourself, and the appearance of valuable components generally depends on your luck, you should definitely save before you start crafting the gun of your dreams. Any mistake - and your efforts in the form of a two-hour search for rare components will turn into useless weapon junk taking up space in your inventory.

Therefore, it is important to remove modifications from all weapons found and keep them in your inventory. This will save a lot of time collecting resources and will allow you to get improvements that are not yet available to you.

How to remove a modification from a weapon

You can’t just take and remove a modification, you can only replace it with another one. For example, to remove a silencer from a 10mm pistol, you must have any other muzzle attachment mod in your inventory: no muzzle attachment, compensator, or muzzle brake. Place a modification from your inventory on the weapon you find, and the installed one is moved to your inventory. Using the Gauss carbine as an example, it looks like this:

One modification weighs 0.5 kg. And you don’t need to carry it with you all the time, just store it in the workshop and bring the found trunks there for an upgrade. Mods can be changed by clicking the “Attach modification” button:

As you can see, everything is simple, but you will have to get at least the simplest modifications for each slot for each weapon.

Well-pumped guns can be removed from strong opponents, so you will have to start hunting for raiders, Marksman mercenaries and super mutants. Especially for legendary characters whose names have an asterisk. But sometimes something worthwhile comes out of other legendary inhabitants of the Commonwealth. For example, here is a Gauss carbine from the Death Claw and a minigun from a ghoul:

As you can see, a sufficient number of modifications can be removed from them. Except that the radroaches and flying insects did not provide weapons, only elements of armor.

Have a good war! She never changes...
