Dying light new game plus. Games similar to Dying Light

Tremble fans of the walking dead, zombie mania has not gone away. The fashion for zombie toys and films comes out with constant regularity and, frankly speaking, we are fed up with it. However, this toy turned out to be a feast for the eyes, although it gave us headaches with graphics performance. We are waiting for official patches and configurations to correct the situation, but this is a problem only for PC versions. Polish developers working for Techiand recently released a game Dead Island also from the zombie series, before the presentation of the game, many thought that the Dying Light game was a continuation of the series, but alas, it was not so. Dying Light is a game that combines some horror and action with parkour.

There was the first announcement of the game back on May 24, 2013, then everyone was shown the first presentation video, they said that the game would be made on the Chrome Engine 6. According to which the game would be more playable, the picture would be optimized. Exactly a year later, the developers said when it would be released, the release took place on January 27, 2015 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Game Features

Events Dying games Light takes place in the city of Harran, which is somewhere at the junction of the Middle East and Europe. As in any movie or game, there is an outbreak of a new unknown virus, the city is immediately closed by the military and the disease is not allowed to spread. Our main character's name is Kyle Crane, who works as an undercover agent who worked in this city on a special mission. He will have to survive between the war between zombies and the local sadist Rais.

The main element of the gameplay is hand-to-hand combat and assemblies of all kinds of weapons. To survive in this city you have to climb the walls and roofs of houses. The game looks like a sandbox from the inside, you can go anywhere and complete missions. It looks like our hero is a die-hard agent, he carries out any order even if there is no logic in this order. I would like to note that parkour is not just for show, but the basis for survival.

In Dying Light, the zombie plot comes into the background because the main character has to dress up and squeeze into the resistance in order to fight for resources and competition in the fight against the epidemic. Episodes associated with drama do not look very good and can be very comical.

In general, the game is very dynamic, the change of scenery is not bad and will not let you get bored. The main character of Dying Light has to be upgraded from skills to improvements (survival, strength and agility), this process is not so difficult. If you have played Warface then you know what a tackle is, the developers have introduced this skill into the game, all you have to do is develop it.

Gaming gameplay

I really liked the fact that a first aid kit is not so easy to find in the game; you need to make it yourself from auxiliary items that you find during the game. Dying Light had a good night, the game seems to be transformed. Zombies become more aggressive and tenacious, daring, fast and strong. The most dangerous opponent from the zombie representation - these are “jumpers”, it is not recommended to go with them, go face to face. I can assure you that night forays are highly encouraged in leveling up the main character twice as much. The nightly screams of zombies and sudden attacks give this game a good horror feel.

The design of the Dying Light game is changing at tremendous speed, changing weather conditions, timely changes in location - all this will not let you get bored. There are a lot of cold weapons, some weapons cannot be made without drawings (the main character has to dress up and sweat in search of drawings). With all due respect to the developers of the game Dying Light, I would like to say that we have all seen this somewhere, here you can see various parallels of other games and films. This cocktail turned out to be a secondary, but high-quality product. I would like to note the wonderful animated design of zombies, they come in different tastes and colors and are different: large, simple, strong, dexterous, and aging with acid.

Conclusion Dying Light game it turned out to be second-rate in terms of zombies, the creators took on everything in the game, it’s hard not to note the excellent mechanics, good sound, nice graphics, variety of tasks. The only downside was the optimization and weak plot of the game. In the sum of all the pros and cons, this game was not able to be completed to the end, as for me the game smells like something from the movie “World War Z”.

Detailed video review of the game

Dying Light is an exciting action/survival game in an apocalypse setting, released on PC and consoles in . A little later, in , an equally exciting addition was released for Daing Light - The Following, which added a new plot story, the ability to manage transport and some other innovations. Even later, the independent addition Bad Blood saw the light, bringing with it an unusual multiplayer mode combining with.

It is noteworthy that with a rather hackneyed setting (a monstrous zombie epidemic in a huge modern metropolis, in this case in the fictional Arab city of Harran), the game turned out to be very bright and original - largely thanks to the spectacular and dynamic, inseparable tandem incorporated into the gameplay of Dying Light.

All this made Dying Light one of the best games about zombies on PC. At the same time, there are a huge number of other games like Dying Light, which are not much inferior to it. We offer a list of the most similar ones in this material.

1.Mirrors edge

First on our list, Mirror's Edge is a game from DICE that is a spectacular and fast-paced action/platformer set in a dystopian future. It is similar to Dying Light in that it has an exciting parkour system that plays a key role in the gameplay. The game also received a sequel/remake, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, which is slightly inferior to the original.

2. Dead Island Series

3. State of Decay Series

4. Dead Rising Series

A series of meat zombies/action games, the gameplay of which boils down to one thing - the ability to disembowel those roaming the streets open city undead using various improvised means, as well as types of weapons specially designed for such purposes, including a powerful exoskeleton that appeared in the fourth part. Plus the ability to combine weapons with each other, thereby creating new and unusual variants.

5. 7 Days to Die

A multiplayer game from The Fun Pimps, sending players into an open world, the vastness of which is filled with various types living dead. The gameplay offers all the entertainment typical of the genre: shootouts and close combat with a first-person view, exploration of the world and collection of resources, etc. Plus, 7 Days to Die has an advanced role-playing system that allows the hero to follow his own path of development and receive the most useful perks and abilities, in the player’s opinion.

6. The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners

When nothing was expected from games based on the Walking Dead universe, it turns out The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners. Moreover, this is a project for VR devices. And yes, it turned out great! Players are invited to become a survivor of the zombie apocalypse and go through a lot of story missions(the story is great, by the way). In the process, you need to explore locations and look for supplies and weapons, as well as kill the living dead.

The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, judging by the reviews from gamers, turned out to be a great success. Everyone praises the detailed interaction with the world and the deep atmosphere. If you have it, don't pass it by.

7. Arizona Sunshine

One more great game for glasses virtual reality about zombies. Arizona Sunshine takes you to the American Southwest, which is teeming with... walking dead. You have to fight enemies using improvised means and various weapons, and also look for survivors.

What do users want when they imagine themselves as the hero of a zombie action movie? That's right - crush zombie skulls using everything you have at hand. Arizona Sunshine features realistic weapon handling, allowing you to quickly and lastingly immerse yourself in game world. You can play alone or with friends in a co-op campaign or horde mode.

8. Zombie Army Trilogy

Zombie Army Trilogy is a spin-off from Sniper Elite, which became a full-fledged series of games. Gamers alone or in a team must shoot back from hordes of revived Nazis, including powerful mutants. The arsenal includes various sniper rifles, machine guns, explosives and much more.

Zombie Army is similar to Dying Light in terms of zombies. There are many of them here, and each is a serious danger. Otherwise, it’s a regular game with elements of Sniper Elite, which we recommend playing with friends to get the most out of it.

9. Hunt: Showdown

10. Left 4 Dead series

In Left 4 Dead, as in Dying Light, you will encounter huge hordes of zombies. True, it is much easier to kill them here - the player will have to use various firearms and bladed weapons, as well as Molotov cocktails, explosives and other means.

The games do not have a full-fledged plot. Gamers are invited to choose a scenario and go through all the missions, the essence of which is to move from one shelter to another. You can play alone, but it’s better to play in a team with friends, since the games are designed for...

11. Dead Frontier 2

A free multiplayer action game with survival elements, set in a very dark world that has survived the zombie apocalypse. Of all the games on this list, Dead Frontier 2 is perhaps the closest to the classic zombie horror genre.

The gameplay consists of collecting materials and supplies in random locations, leveling up abilities and, of course, there are intense shootouts with different types zombies and bosses. You can also interact with other players in every possible way: support with a friendly message or a handful of valuable ammunition.

12. Contagion

A cooperative shooter/horror game with survival elements from independent studio Monochrome, set in a city ravaged by the Z-epidemic. The gameplay here is never the same thanks to a deep metropolis generation system that changes the environment, enemies, items, weapons and many other objects with each new game session. Recommended for all fans of Left 4 Dead and Zombie Panic.

13. Deadlight

An interesting, stylish and atmospheric 2D action/platformer in the setting of a zombie apocalypse, dedicated to the tragic story of Randal Wayne, who is trying to find his family in the general chaos. In addition to shootings in Deadlight, a lot of attention is paid to parkour and solving all sorts of physical problems. The effectiveness of the game is enhanced by the cinematic (despite its two-dimensional appearance) picture and expressive music, which evoke associations with such masterpieces of the gaming world as Half-Life 2, Inside and Dying Light, which interests us primarily.

14.DayZ

One of the progenitors of the multiplayer zombie survival genre. The core of the gameplay is the exploration of the vast open areas (225 square kilometers) represented in DayZ by the fictional post-Soviet state of Chernarus, most of whose population have become aggressive zombie-like monsters.

Prompt collection of all kinds of useful junk and crafting here become the key to survival, because in addition to zombies, banal hypothermia or hunger can bring death. Or another player's treacherous bullet - DayZ has a free PVP system. So choose your teammates carefully.

Very soon, thanks to the Dying Light: The Following expansion, we will travel to the countryside near the city of Harran to finally continue our adventures. The guys from Techland are trying to set an example for other game developers, so they not only release an add-on, but also improve main game, introducing additional entertainment functionality into it. In a new video, Techland shared another piece of detail about the upcoming update-addition.

In this video we were told about the “Nightmare” mode (or “Nightmare mode”). This is a kind of hypertrophied version of the increased difficulty mode of Dying Light: increased duration of the night, stronger mutants, and a significantly reduced role of the mini-map. In Nightmare mode, all active abilities consume stamina, so you need to be careful when swinging a two-handed ax, imagining yourself to be Rambo, Terminator and Rocky in one bottle. Each death in Nightmare mode completely resets experience points beyond your current level. That is, if you earn, for example, 239 thousand experience points out of the required 240 thousand to reach the next level, and then die absurdly, you will lose these same 239 thousand experience points. It's a shame, isn't it? In short, choose the “Nightmare” mode only with relaxed nerves, otherwise you will have to buy new keyboards, mice or, in particularly advanced cases, monitors...

But there is also a huge plus in the “Nightmare” mode, which, theoretically, will push players to use it. In this mode, experience points are earned much faster. And you really need to earn them, because, if you remember, in the updated version of the game there will be legendary levels, to obtain which you will need to spend tons of experience. In addition, the developers recommend that we play together with friends, because each partner who joins your game will generate an additional 10% experience, and so on, up to a 30% bonus when playing together with three friends.

We remind you that addition The Following along with updating the game to status Enhanced Edition will be released on February 9, that is, very soon. All season pass holders will receive the add-on automatically.
