The developers of Absolute RC Simulator have worked so hard on their application and made very high-quality graphics, as well as realistic physics. Everything seems so real that it’s as if you are standing on some field in reality and controlling these airplanes through the remote control.
You will control a jet fighter and several rotary-wing models. Before starting the main process in Absolute RC Simulator, you can select the plane itself, as well as the camera mode and some kind of landscape. Simulator Phoenix is one of the most realistic and advanced aircraft models on the market today. This simulator allows you not only to learn how to fly a helicopter and an airplane, it is one of the best simulators for quadcopter, which makes it the most popular these days.
Installation on a computer
Insert the installation disk with the simulator program and select English language. Then select Phoenix. The installation wizard will launch.
Check the box that you agree with the manufacturer's terms and conditions and accept its license.
Enter any letters. It doesn't matter.
Select the Complete installation.
Once the installation is complete, click Finish.
If the Phoenix icon does not appear on your desktop, then go to the simulator installation folder and display the icon on the desktop yourself.
If you have a Phoenix Builder icon on your desktop, you can remove it. It's unlikely you'll need it. This is a model builder. There are already plenty of models in the Phoenix simulator; you are unlikely to want to create your own, especially at first.
Connection
Connection to the control panel
It is necessary to correctly connect the wires supplied in the kit to connect the control equipment to the computer. Pay attention to what type of port is on your equipment. Typically the port is named Trainer. The kit includes several types of adapters for different port options. Choose the one that suits you. For Spectrum equipment, you do not need to use an adapter; the wire is inserted into a 3.5 mm Jack connector (a regular connector, like for headphones) without an adapter.
Connecting to a computer
Use Dongl - the so-called flash drive adapter. This is what will allow the computer to see your simulator. Dongl is inserted into the USB port of the computer, with reverse side V Dongl insert the other end of the wire with 3.5 mm Jack connector.
So, we launch the Phoenix 5.0 simulator, having previously connected the cable supplied in the kit. We insert one end of the cable into a special port on your transmitter, the other into the USB port of the computer.
Please note that the lever on the flash drive (dongl) must be set opposite the name of the simulator you installed. In our case, we installed Phoenix.
Please note that if you are using Spectrum equipment, you do not need to turn on the equipment itself. When connecting the cable to 3.5 mm Jack connector the equipment turns on automatically. In the case of other brands, try both options: when the equipment is turned off and on.
Basic settings
As soon as you close this window, a prompt will appear before your eyes that you have not yet created a profile:
To create it, go to Setup - Setup new transmitter, as indicated in the screenshot:
Phoenix suggests calibrating your transmitter. He needs to remember the average position of the sticks, as well as their extreme points. Place all the sticks in the position shown in the picture above.
Now move each stick around, touching each extreme point. Yellow stripes should appear. Each band is responsible for its own channel. If you do not see any stripes, check the connection to the control panel. Perhaps there is no contact somewhere. Try restarting the simulator program. Click Next several times until the window prompts you to select the brand of your equipment. If it is not in the list, then select the very first one by default. In our case, we will choose Spektrum.
So we reached the window where it is proposed to create a new profile. Enter any name. We'll call the profile Nikolay.
In the next step, we will be asked to again set all the sticks to the central position. We follow the instructions.
Let's check if everything is correct. Let's pull the throttle up. If the yellow stripe goes up, then everything is fine. If down, then click Retry, i.e. reset the parameters. Let's move on. We set up the general step in the same way. The general step is the movement of the swashplate on a helicopter. If you have an airplane, then you still can’t avoid this step. Raise the throttle (it is also responsible for the pitch of the helicopter rotor) up.
At the next step, we will set up the correct steering control - rudder. Let's pull the left stick to the right and left and thereby indicate to the simulator where the right is and where the left is.
Let's move on to setting up the right stick. He is responsible for the roll (tilts left and right) and pitch (bending forward and backward). Modellers call them ailerons and elevators.
Move the right stick up to show the program that this is the movement that tilts the model forward along the elevator. In the next step, move the right stick to the right to make it clear that this action is responsible for the roll tilt to the right.
So we have fully calibrated and configured our transmitter for flights on the Phoenix simulator. You can now fly.
If the setup fails and the model flies incorrectly or does not fly at all, that is, all the correct positions are completely lost (that is, the gas is the aileron, and the aileron is the rudder, etc.), then it is recommended to go through the setup again. This happens sometimes.
Fine Settings
If any of your channels does not work correctly. For example, when turning left, a rudder turns right, then it is necessary to reverse the channel. Log into your profile via Sistem - My Control - profile selection - Edit profile and make more precise settings manually. If you need to reverse it, check the box next to the desired channel in the Invert column. To understand which channel is responsible for what, just pull the transmitter sticks. Save your changes.
Updating the Phoenix simulator to the latest version
To update the simulator version to latest version you need to accept the program's offer to update at startup. When launched, two windows will pop up. The first one is, you need to reject it by clicking “No”.
And in the second window that appears, click “Yes”. The installation of Phoenix simulator version 5.5 will begin.
