Review of the Star Wars: Battlefront add-on - Death Star - war in space. Review of the Star Wars: Battlefront add-on - Death Star - war in space Death Star - and that says it all

Let's dive into the world of the detective role-playing game The Council

It has all this in abundance, but in addition there is great variability in the passage. The development of the story and the comments of the characters are influenced not only by the choices you make in key points plot, but also many not obvious things. For example, upon arriving at the estate, you may not proceed to the bed in your own room, but rather stroll through the halls. This decision will lead you to an unexpected meeting and help you better understand the situation. Your powers of observation can also have a decisive influence.

Quite a few games in early access they remain raw and uninteresting. What can’t be said about Warbands Bushido - a domestic tabletop turn-based wargame that appealed to thousands of fans board games from all over the world. We decided to find out the secret of success and turned to Konstantin Slepchenkov, art director of Red Unit Studios, whose headquarters are located in the city of Orel. According to information from your studio's website, Warbands is a series of games in the future...

Wreckfest is a racing simulator from the famous developer Bugbear Entertainment with a detailed car damage system, deep upgrades and complex driving dynamics. The game focuses on two modes - Demolition Derby and traditional racing mode. And if everything is clear with the usual racing mode, then what is Demolition Derby? In this mode, you and your friends (or other players) will find yourself in a fairly small racing arena and your only task will be to earn as many points as possible.

Are there many games with a minimum of violence that even small children can play? Perhaps less than half. How many of them do you need to think about? Unforgivably little! How many of them do you need to dig into? Units! How many of them are about crazy robots powered by steam and living in the wild west? Steamworld dig only. Although wait, the sequel is here. Steamworld dig 2 is one of the most sticky and long-lasting representatives of its kind. Still the same, only slightly prettier sequel as the 2013 Steamworld dig.

But can football really be step-by-step? Will the dynamics that were so extolled by football officials who oppose the introduction of a video replay system disappear from it? And indeed, the football we are used to, at first glance, is much more difficult to adapt to a turn-based mode than its American counterpart. The latter already has a very successful Blood Bowl series. But in amfuta the phases of attack and defense are much more pronounced. In soccer, the ball can constantly pass from team to team. Did the developers manage to convey the specifics of the game through turn-based

, “Star Wars” has finally become “starry”. Now we can take part in a real war, unfolding in outer space, teeming with many fighters and bombers.

Death Star - and that says it all

So, let's start with the most basic thing - what the developers added in the add-on. The main innovation of this DLC is new mode- “Battle Station”, which is divided into three phases. Initially, the battle takes place in outer space, where the rebels must destroy ten Imperial interceptors in ten minutes. Everything here is almost the same as in Squadron mode, including vehicles such as the TIE Fighter, TIE Interceptor, X-wing and A-wing.

Then the battles move to the legendary Death Star, known from the Star Wars films. Unlike other maps, which mainly feature a vast space for the player, the Death Star is a narrower location with many corridors and doors. Because of this, wherever we look, explosions and shootings are always in front of our eyes. Thus, the dynamics of the battle on the Death Star are very high, and therefore those who like to sit on the roof and shoot opponents with a pulse cannon will have to get used to being constantly in action.

The challenge we face in the second phase of the Battle Station mode depends on who we're playing as. The Imperials must prevent the rebels from reaching R2-D2 and take him away from the base. If the rebels do break through the defenses and complete the objective, the game enters the third phase, which takes us back into space. Everything there is already quite standard - the rebel forces must destroy the imperial cruiser Star Destroyer at all costs.

Chewie, we're home

In addition to the Battle Station mode, it brought two new heroes to the game - the long-awaited Chewbacca and the bounty hunter Bossk. The first can kill opponents with one shot, and also temporarily increase its damage and defense. It is noteworthy that Chewbacca automatically increases the defense of his allies. As for the hero Bossk, his features include infrared vision, a poison grenade, and the ability to turn his blaster into a grenade launcher. In addition, by killing opponents, Bossk restores his health, and therefore it is quite difficult to kill this hero.

Among the new content, it is also worth highlighting five maps for battles, weapons, a medical droid, star maps, as well as unique starships - the TIE X1, on which Darth Vader himself flies, and the Red-5, controlled by Luke Skywalker. Besides, maximum level the player was raised from 70th to 90th. And of course, the developers did not forget about new items for customization.

Summing up, I would like to note that the third addition for, little by little, gives the game a second wind. It was with this set of maps, modes and other content that the game should have been released from the very beginning. If anyone remembers, in our review

The Death Star is an integral symbol " Star Wars" I can even bet that every second person you meet on the street will be able to at least roughly describe this high-tech monster from a galaxy far, far away. It’s not at all appropriate to talk about his popularity among fans. Released almost a year ago Star Wars Battlefront prompted many questions, one of which was: “Where the hell is my Death Star!?” A little later, the developers announced that the treasured content will appear only in future additions, for which you still need to pay a fair amount. A rare player was then pleased with such efficiency DICE. As a result, the most stubborn and suffering before the Death Star were forced to buy Season Pass and wait a long time to get that part of the game that was expected at the start. And now the DLC is finally out, which means it’s time to find out if it’s justified Death Star such a long wait.

Like original game, the addition is greeted brightly and with pomp - explosions everywhere, on one side the Star Destroyer, on the other the Death Star, and you yourself fly in an asteroid field and fire at everyone you see. After a while you are thrown inside space station, where you can meet your favorite characters from the original trilogy - R2-D2 and Chewbacca. The next moment you are already flying on your X-wing and repeating the feat of Luke Skywalker from the fourth episode, destroying the Death Star with one precise shot.

After the first hour I just want to talk about how cool everything is. With the passing of euphoria comes the realization that the game has treacherously few maps and modes, and battles spaceships too much time allotted. Main feature Death Star- a new mode that takes place in three stages, two of which are space battles. If the rebels lose even in one of the matches, the empire wins and you are thrown into another mode, which will almost certainly be another battle in space. Here lies the main question that should be answered by everyone who is considering a purchase. Death Star:“Do I like flying in this game?” If “no,” then the entire addition in the form in which it is presented now will pass you by; if “yes,” then I doubt that the proposed content will be enough to keep you for a long time. DICE has already acknowledged the problem with ground battles and promised to introduce new modes. It turns out that DLC will be released for the DLC. Thanks, at least it's free.

In addition to the destruction of the Death Star, perhaps the most stupid and primitive mode was added to the game - regular deathmatch, in which the team that kills the most opponents wins. But fortunately Blast - that’s what this mode is called - goes through so quickly that it can’t even be taken into account. The only thing that can please fans of ground battles is new heroes, some new weapons and gadgets. From the alliance side, you can now play as Chewbacca, who in a short time since the release of the add-on has already established himself as one of the most strong heroes in the game. Thanks to its impressive dimensions and destructive power of the energy crossbow, playing as it essentially turns into playing the role of a tank. It will be equally useful both on large maps for 40 people and in tight spaces. As for the empire, The dark side we are invited to play for Bossk, a bounty hunter whom you could glimpse in the fourth episode. When playing as him, you can turn on the thermal imager at any time - a feature of his race, and also switch between a powerful blaster and a mini-grenade launcher. It is very effective in closed spaces, especially when there are a large concentration of enemies in one place.

New weapons - a blaster and a pistol - now have the ability to fire alternatively. Both weapons can store a charge of energy to then fire and kill an opponent in one hit. If you are not accurate enough, you are finished. Overheating in the second mode occurs instantly, so the most correct place to use it is large cards with the ability to fight over long distances. Otherwise, the addition to the arsenal is unremarkable.

If we talk about new gadgets, then there are exactly two of them - a stationary medical robot and a mine with a tripwire. Personally, I was really looking forward to the medical bot, because... I often play the role of a medic, but, unfortunately, I cannot say that my expectations were met. The droid is very flimsy - it falls apart after a small series of precise hits, and it only heals a third of its health every five to ten seconds. For intense and very fast battles in Battlefront, where you have to die often, the bot in its current state is practically useless. But the same cannot be said about the new mine. Mines are generally very effective in battlefront, but if previously they could only be picked up as a bonus on the battlefield, now it is possible to add them to your permanent set. You can find a lot of applications for the new trap, at the most different maps, so it often becomes a mandatory choice.

In general, it is impossible to say that the addition was a failure, as half of the players now claim Battlefront Internet. New heroes and a three-stage battle mode are a good reason to return to the game. Another thing is that if you don’t like space battles, then buying Death Star won't make any sense. At the moment, this is the most stingy add-on in everything Season Pass, which is worth buying only in conjunction with all the other DLC.

We also broadcast on Star Wars Battlefront: Death Star, where they told and showed all the features of the add-on (it’s better to start from the 13th minute, because before that there were problems with sound):
