Multiplayer game with a storyline. Online games with a good storyline

Everyone knows that the success of a computer game lies in several parameters at once. One of them is graphics, since a gamer always wants to see a bright and colorful picture in front of him. Physics are also important because realism has always been highly valued in games. Character development and the possibility of their comprehensive development is also a very important aspect, without which some games can lose a lot in the eyes of users. But few projects can do without a quality storyline. And we are talking about those in which it is not even implied. For example, in a game belonging to the sandbox genre - "Minecraft" - there is no plot at all. But its meaning lies not in it at all, but in complete freedom of action. In most cases, you cannot do without a plot. And the better it is, the more fun the gamer will get. Therefore, games with good story both previously and now are in great demand. This is especially true considering that many stories have already been told and retold more than once. So developers have to try very hard to surprise anyone. And if you don’t know which game to choose, then you should pay attention to the top 10 projects with the best plot, compiled according to user voting.

Tenth and ninth places

In tenth place is the Alan Wake project, which tells the story of the famous writer. Games with a good story usually offer interesting characters right away. As well as the settings where the process will unfold. In this case, you will play as writer Alan Wake, who wants to return his missing wife. But at the same time he will have to go through a real nightmare in which reality and imagination are mixed. You've definitely never seen anything like this before. The Fahrenheit project is in ninth place; it became a real breakthrough in its time. Here you will have to take control of a character accused of a murder he did not commit. The game itself takes place in interactive drama mode. That is, you need to make decisions that will affect the further development of events. Games with a good story often offer the player an alternative, which allows them to achieve one ending or another. This makes such projects special.

Eighth and seventh places

It was deservedly in eighth place Fallout series, which was one of the first in the field of computer games to invite gamers to plunge into a post-apocalyptic world. Like all other games with a good story, Fallout already in the first part offered alternative solutions and interesting development events. Like a good wine, it only got better over the years. And the third part of the trilogy already shines with incredible plot twists, well-developed characters, as well as locations in which the events unfold. The Witcher series continues the trend of high-quality role-playing games, based on the works of Andrzej Sapkowski. Here you play the role of a Witcher, who will have to protect himself, his dear people, as well as his native kingdom. You will have to experience betrayal, unexpected help from those from whom you did not expect it, a bright love affair and much more, right up to the appearance of dragons. It is unlikely that The Witcher will be able to leave anyone indifferent, especially when it comes to role-playing projects. As you can see, the top games with the best storylines are filled with quality options, so you'll definitely find ones that suit your taste.

Sixth place

On the sixth line of the hit parade is no longer role play, but a third-person shooter (or rather, two parts of it), called “Mafia”. Games with a good storyline are released on PC much more often than on consoles. Therefore, computer users can rest assured that they will always have something to do. And one of the games should definitely be “Mafia”, since its plot immerses you in the thirties of the last century, in the very center criminal world. These are impressions that you could hardly get in any other way, and you won’t be able to convey them in words, so you should definitely try this project on PC. Games with the best stories always impress gamers, even many years after their release. Graphics are becoming outdated, engines are being improved, and capabilities are expanding. And competent, well-researched and interesting story remains good and relevant at any time.

Fifth place

Another example of a game with the best storyline is Dragon Age. Here it is also worth taking into account a whole series of projects, since they all have a well-developed and catchy story. You never know what will happen in a few minutes, who will be on your side and who will betray you, who you will lose and who you will establish contact with. This game can also be used as an example for any developers of role-playing projects, since it is here that you can develop your character to the maximum not only in terms of combat characteristics, but also in terms of personality. You can build relationships with many people at once, show your emotions, and all this will influence the development of events. These are the kinds of projects that any list of games with a good storyline should consist of.

Fourth place

In fourth place this list turned out to be GTA series. Naturally, the first parts cannot be taken into account, since in original game There was practically no plot. This project was close to the sandbox in genre. But over time, the storylines began to emerge more and more clearly. And the main merit of the series is that the “sand” elements not only were not lost, but also gained new strength. The freedom of action from one game to another increased, which resulted in the epic fourth part, in which there is an incredible plot of the rise of a former prisoner from the very bottom of the ghetto to the top. But at the same time, right there you can do absolutely whatever you want: ride cars, join conflicts with people, fulfill side quests, get tattoos, create new hairstyles, buy suits, houses and shops. And all this within one project. This is what quality games with a very good story look like.

Third place

The first to rise to the podium is the legendary Half-Life series, which tells the story of Dr. Gordon Freeman, a silent physicist. He turns out to be the only person capable of saving the whole world, while wielding a crowbar and other tools. In the first part of the game, he tries to get to the bottom of the research being carried out at the Black Mesa base, and then escape from there. And in the second, he already finds himself in a post-apocalyptic world, captured by strange representatives of the authorities. And again you need to save everyone and everything. These projects are recognized as legendary and masterpieces; without them, modern game development would be completely different.

Second place

The trilogy stopped one step from the top Mass Effect, which tells the story of a spaceship captain and his crew who are trying to save not just a planet, but an entire universe from the invasion of terrifying ancient creatures. All this happens in the process of traveling from planet to planet, performing various missions that add up to a common chain of related events. The game itself is an RPG with action elements, and you won't even notice how you'll be immersed in the process.

First place

According to most fans of computer games, the best plot is in the series called It tells about various assassins from the Order of Assassins who find themselves in the thick of historical events. Naturally, this game would not be in first place if it were not good in absolutely everything. This is a stealth action game that offers you great dynamics with many ways to defeat the enemy, incredibly exciting stories that you will unravel as you progress, and much more: gorgeous graphics, a great soundtrack, and so on. Therefore, if you want to experience what a truly great story is, then you should definitely try one of the games in this series - they will not disappoint you.

The plot is the main component in games (which have at least some kind of plot). To all the players who loved game worlds for their well-thought-out plot, I have long wanted to influence at least somehow, to do what they want, to turn where they want, to kill whoever they want. It is these games that we will talk about today. You can influence the plot in different ways, you can simply change the cosmetic part of the plot, change some moments, and of course you can create a different, completely new ending to the game. All the games on our list will have these qualities, or some of them. (This top is based on my personal opinion and may differ from yours.)

Fifth place: Fable Anniversary

Morning in the village, next to dad, mom and little sister, it seemed like what could be better?! But at some point your village is attacked by hordes of bandits and robbers. You skillfully hide behind the fence and at that moment you notice that your village has burst into flames like " Christmas tree", the first thing I thought of main character, there was of course his family. In a rush, our boy runs to his house and finds his father dead. Having mourned his death, he notices that a bandit is rapidly rushing towards him, and, pressing his head, awaits death. But lo and behold, he is saved by a local master hero and taken to the school of heroes, where our character will have to undergo rebirth into a real hero of Albion. The game surprises with its nonlinearity; at the time of its release, there was a very meager selection of games with non-linear plot. And then a game appears in which you will not only be able to change elements of the plot, you will also be able to change the appearance of the hero depending on your actions (good and evil deeds), and your physique and beard will also change depending on the choice of the hero’s class. From this or that mission, public opinion will change towards you (people will respect or fear). And as a result, before the last task, your appearance will change beyond recognition (horns, red aura, flies, glowing eyes or white hair, a halo above your head and blue eyes). By the standards of the time period in which it was released, the game is very non-linear and therefore takes an honorable fifth place.

Fourth place: Dishonored

The country is struck by a plague, and you act in it as the main adviser and bodyguard of the queen and her daughter. Having sent you to other countries for help, the queen expected a more pleasant outcome of events, but still you were refused help, and with this you returned back to your hometown. After entering the harbor you are greeted by the queen's daughter named Emily who is happy new meeting with you and invites you to play. Soon you meet several representatives of the official authorities and then the queen herself. Having given her the letter, you notice that there are no nearby guards, and people can be seen running on the roofs of neighboring houses. Taking out your sword and pistol, you try to protect the queen, but alas, this does not work, the queen is killed, and the young princess is kidnapped. Soon the guards with influential officials come running to you and accuse you of murder and kidnapping of royalty. You are tortured in prison, and soon you receive a letter and a key to the cell, and try to break free in order to find the princess and help the rebels return her to power. The game is made in the genre of first-person stealth action. You have an incredible number of options to complete the game, almost every task will have two or more options for solving the problem. It is also possible to complete the game without killing anyone, which will affect the appearance of the city and the residents in general. For its non-linearity and the ability to complete the game without killing, Dishonored receives fourth place.

Third place: The Walking Dead

Next place in top 5 nonlinear games allocated to The Walking Dead. The whole world is plunged into chaos due to the sudden appearance of a zombie virus. And in it you play the role of an ordinary surviving guy named Lee, and next to you is a girl you saved named Clementine. Your main task will be to reach safe place and perhaps find the little girl's parents. As the game progresses, other characters will join your group (Kenny, Katya, Duck, Carly, etc.). Each of the characters brings their own individual character to the game, making us worry about them or, on the contrary, hate them. You have to make choices in the game almost every minute, choosing the right dialogue options or performing the right actions. Unfortunately, all the choices placed before the players will only affect individual cutscenes and the attitude of other characters towards you. The finale may end with three possible endings, which will only be expressed in the form of a cutscene. You will have to make incredibly difficult decisions during the course of the game, kill or save, help or harm, protect or insult, all this makes the non-linearity that we talked about earlier more interesting and fun. Due to its general nonlinearity and interesting, variable plot, the game deserves third place in our top.

Second place: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

The huge world of the kingdoms of the North, filled with monsters and just bad people. In this world there is a small group of people, changed by mutations, who call themselves witchers, and are created to fight incredible hordes of monsters. You play the role of Geralt of Rivia, a witcher of the "Wolf" school, one of the last witchers on the ground. The main task of the third part of the game will be to find your adopted daughter Ciri and save her from the clutches of the Wild Hunt. Your friends and other good people will help you with this. An incredible number of entertaining quests, and an equally incredible variety of methods for completing these tasks. For example, let's look at one of the moments of the game, when you arrive in Velen, in order to find out from the locals about Ciri, in one tavern you meet a group of dirty bandits who, upon entering the tavern, immediately turned their gaze against you, here you have a choice , kill, ignore or befriend them. Depending on your decision, both the possibility of access to the baron of those places and the opinion of people in Velen about you will change. Also, after making a decision in this task in favor of ignoring, you can hear the conversations of these bandits on the topic of robbery and violence, and only then change your decision and kill them. For the incredible non-linearity of both the main plot and additional missions The game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt deservedly takes second place in our top.

First place: The Stanley Parable

The office is somewhere in the city center, or perhaps not. A large company, or perhaps not. And the Stanley office worker who spent his entire life pushing buttons that popped up on his monitor. But at one fine moment, the commands stopped coming to his monitor, and the main character decided to find out what was really going on. Leaving his office, he noticed that all the employees of his company had disappeared somewhere, and he was left alone. Next, he decides to go in search of answers to his questions, guided or not guided by a voiceover that told him where to go and what to do. The value of this game lies in its unique nonlinearity; you have a huge choice of what you want to do. You can listen to the announcer and go where he says, you can disobey him and go in the other direction, you can listen to him every other time, you can not listen at all, you can stand, you can turn back. And all this will lead you to one of several dozen game endings that will not be similar, and may even surprise you in some way. Due to such freedom of choice and non-linearity of the plot game The Stanley Parable takes an honorable first place in our top. Or doesn't it? It's up to you!

Well, that's all, I hope you agree with me about the games in this top. Good luck to you on the battlefields!!!

It's no secret that the success of a good computer game lies in several criteria. Graphics, controls, physics, realism, leveling system and, of course, the storyline.

In this TOP we will talk specifically about those games that are in the top ten according to the last criterion.

10. Alan Wake

The game gets an honorable tenth place Alan Wake, which tells about the adventures of a famous writer. A good storyline with non-trivial characters.

In this case, the main character is the writer Alan Wake, who decided to find his once missing wife. This is not so easy to do, because along the way a real nightmare begins, as reality gradually mixes with the imagination of the character himself. This idea is really quite interesting and at one time gamers really appreciated this new product.

9. Fahrenheit

The ninth place in our TOP of the best plots in games is occupied by the game Fahrenheit, which has become a real breakthrough since its release into the gaming industry.

The main character is a simple guy who is accused of a murder that he, of course, did not commit. The passage itself is an interactive drama, where a special role is prepared for gamers. Players need to make decisions in different situations in order to reach the end. By the way, the end of the story depends on the decision options that the gamer himself chooses.

8. Fallout

Eighth place is occupied by an equally famous series of games called Fallout, considered the first project in which gamers are invited to dive into the dizzying and dangerous world, on the verge of death.

The peculiarity of this game was the alternative solutions in the storyline, which led to quite interesting and unexpected events. Over time, a whole series of games based on this project were released, which only became better and more interesting each time. The third part of the game has long ago achieved high ratings in all criteria and is rightfully considered the best in the series.

7. The Witcher

Our rating of games with the best plot continues from the well-known series "The Witcher", created based on the work of Andrzej Sapkowski. The main character will have a considerable number of adventures, and in order to complete them, the Witcher will have to defend not only the people dear to him, but also the entire kingdom.

The most unusual thing for such a bright genre is a love line, filled with constant intrigue, betrayal and conspiracies. Throughout the series, players will be able to personally observe how the Witcher gradually ages and how his journey ends.

6. Mafia

Of course, we can’t ignore two well-known parts of the third-person shooter called "Mafia". For personal computers, finding a project that has a good storyline is not so difficult, especially when compared with games for consoles or mobile devices. So PC owners don’t have to worry about the “interesting plot.”

As for the Mafia, it tells the story of the thirties, when criminal incidents were at the very center of all events. This game is difficult to describe in words, because since the first part many other projects have been released with improved graphics, new features and advanced engines. But it is this storyline that will never become outdated and will remain relevant at any time.

5. Dragon Age

Dragon Age is a project that you've probably heard about, even if you haven't played it. Of course, in order to understand the whole essence of the story, to enjoy a well-developed and compelling plot, you need to play all the series of the game. Nobody knows how events will develop in the next minute. Which of the heroes is destined to die at the very beginning, and which will remain throughout the entire series. Perhaps this is the only game that can serve as an example for other developers who want to create a project with an alternative history.

Storyline allows you to fully reveal all the capabilities of the main character, and not only in basic characteristics and skills, but also as a person in general. There is also a love line, which can cause a lot of problems in the future. But this all depends on the actions of the players themselves.

4. Grand Theft Auto

GTA is a whole series of games, but in this TOP it is worth focusing on latest issues this project, since the first parts did not distinguish themselves with a special storyline. The game genre itself is in many ways reminiscent of the sandbox genre. A little later, the developers decided to outline the storylines in more detail, adding clarity and meaning to them.

Starting from the third part, freedom of action has increased, and the already vast world has become even more interesting. Each hero had his own story, in the development of which players take a direct part. Here, gamers can watch how characters rise from the very bottom of the dark world, becoming real crime bosses in their business.

3. Half-Life

So, we’ve finally reached the top three. A project called Half-Life, which amazed with its story about the silent doctor Gordon Freeman, who is fascinated by physical phenomena. He is the only key to saving the entire universe. As a weapon to save the world from the extraterrestrial world government, he uses a crowbar, as well as any other objects that come to hand.

The first part of the game tells how the doctor investigates the essence of the research "Black Mesa", after which he tries to save his life. The continuation of the project tells about the takeover of the world by strange authorities who are too actively involved in all spheres of society. Both projects are considered legendary, and deservedly receive third place in our list of the best story games.

2.Mass Effect

Silver goes to the trilogy Mass Effect for a very memorable story about one captain and his crew, who spaceship roamed the universe, trying to save it from the invasion of alien creatures.

The game awaits you large number various missions united by a common goal. The gamer risks plunging into a dizzying kaleidoscope of history with incredible speed, despite the fact that it consists of three whole parts.
