Dead Space: Personal opinion. Dead Space: Personal opinion Dead space which part is better

Dead Space (Lifeless space or Dead space) is a multi-platform third-person shooter in the survival horror genre full of meat, blood, scenes of horror and violence.

“Dead Space”, from the very beginning, wisely used all the fears, so that the player almost physically felt all the vulnerability of the main character, felt his fears and despair, literally, together with him, reached the stage of mild insanity from what was happening around him. The entire world of the game was saturated with oppressive loneliness, cramped confined spaces, and hopelessness.

By the third part, the respectable, albeit a little strange, engineer Isaac Clarke, familiar to all fans of the series, learned to roll and hide behind covers. All this happened because the enemies had now learned to shoot. No, not necromorphs, who still continue to rely on their limbs and teeth, but ordinary people. It is in shootouts with them that you will have to use new abilities.

Combat encounters with people is one of the important innovations, and it is caused by a very interesting plot twist. In the new part, Isaac no longer tries to save his life at any cost, and does not encounter necromorphs in the very first minutes of the game. He no longer wants to meet with the creatures that have become boring in the two previous parts, but calmly sits out in his cramped but cozy apartment. In addition, in this apartment it is convenient to hide from the adepts of Unitology who are looking for him, who dream of exterminating the presumptuous engineer who is constantly ruining their plans. His relationship with Ellie apparently ended long ago, and she flew off to further search for the necromorph lair. But Isaac’s love for her did not pass, and therefore, after certain events (I won’t tell you which ones), he finds himself together with her (and some other characters, the third part is generally rich in living people) on the distant planet Tau Volantis, on which a cradle of necromorphs was discovered .

There is an opinion that Dead Space is still translated as “dead space”. A concept that existed even before the game itself and designated a part of space in which there are no more or less significant space objects, read emptiness. In the game, this name hints at the fact that in space there is only death (through necromorphs, for example), or that the necromorphs themselves are not alive and, in general, the number of living objects is equal or tends to zero.

At the end of the trilogy, the interpretation of the title comes to an end: on the corpse of the scientist whose research was carried out plot outline during the third part, the last audio diary is raised, where, dying, he remembers how he was a child, and joyfully squealed to his teacher that when he grows up, he will definitely become a great space explorer who will introduce humanity to alien civilizations, why should he replied " lurk moar, newfag, Space is dead", after which, with his last breath, he says that death is the only thing that humanity will find in space.

Hello everyone, my name is TonySal. And today's post is dedicated to the game Dead Space. Yes, yes... I know what you will say" Now everyone who is not too lazy to write reviews and review the third part"But unlike them, I will not focus on one part of the game, because I want to tell my opinion about the entire franchise. And I remind you that the review is exclusively entertaining and educational in nature, and is not intended to offend anyone and offend someone’s deepest feelings, and I also want to say that the opinion of the Author may not coincide with the opinion of other users and those who decided to read this article out of nowhere. Well, let’s go.
Dead Space: Chapter I.

The first part of the game was released on October 21, 2008 and is still considered one of the most popular and successful horror that have come out recently. It had everything: a chilling atmosphere, terrible moments, "silent" main character. But, by and large, I have nothing to say about the first part, because I’ll be honest - I didn’t finish it. I literally had enough for three or four chapters. Don't get me wrong, I didn't pass it because of the scary moments, from which I, like most of us, began to abundantly adjust " bricks"in his pants, roll back in his chair and, like a madman, began hitting the monitor with his hands, shouting something in the style of " No, no...not my brain, you fucking necromorphs" Not at all. I couldn't finish the game, just because poor and inconvenient management. You know, in general, this is the most difficult thing to talk about about the crookedness of the management, or at least try to explain how ridiculous and dull it is. During my gaming experience, I have seen and played many games, with not the most better management. In games in which the camera, for example, is like an autonomous republic that lives according to its own rules, completely detached from reality, without succumbing to any laws of physics, constantly clinging to the most idiotic places in terms of visibility, or in games , when all you dream about is that the camera is not under your control. But in this case, in no other word than fucked up you can't call it. Because in a game where the main aspect for survival is (even if you don’t take a headshot), but just shoot off limbs, aiming for strength and preparing to shoot, the mouse, as if mocking you, says, “ Nooo bro, I’ll turn a couple more centimeters to the right so that life doesn’t seem sweet to you“and of course you miss, which is what the necromorph actually takes advantage of, trying to tear you apart. What kind of further passage can we talk about after this? In the short time that I played it, I saw everything that is inherent in a great horror game - an eerie dark atmosphere, suspicious creepy sounds, and a cloud of monsters. Although, with the last one it was the other way around. Because " chip"games, specifically in terms of horror, had their share expectations. Expectation that you were about to be attacked, but this did not happen. And when you catch yourself thinking that " It's been a long time since anyone tried to kill me“and you think that monsters will soon crawl in, but they are still not there - this is part of the expectation. After all, just at that moment when you have already relaxed after the next puzzle (which, by the way, was done quite well in the game) and are peacefully going to hand in the task, monsters attack you suddenly and without warning, which is terribly frightening. In concept, implementation, and so on, the game turned out to be at the highest level and immediately gained a bunch of fans. The game is just a piece of cake (except for the stupid control port). And there was also a girl with just a c h r e n i t e l n e ass, which was quite a bit of a relief. Therefore, guys, if anyone is reading this and knows that some kind of patch has been released that corrects the curvature of the controls, please write in the comments, I will be grateful. Oh, I almost forgot, recently in one group I came across a cool picture about the game - And just don’t need to tell me that you didn’t do that.

Dead Space: Chapter II.

The developers' phrase regarding the third part of the game, regarding the violent negative reaction of gamers to the fact that there are too many action scenes in the game, to which they responded " Don't worry, we will make a balance between horror and action"In my opinion, applies well to the second part of the game. Because you will agree that this balance was famously implemented in it. Yes, there are significantly fewer scary moments in the game, but at least they haven’t disappeared completely. A striking example of this was the moment when, while passing through one of the blocks, the fire extinguishing system suddenly went off, or in a dark room, passing through which the TV turned on, showing the whole picture in the room. Honestly, this threw me off, and I had a desire, purely on principle, to insert the entire clip from the cutter into it, it’s good that by that time it didn’t exist yet. There are a lot more monsters in the game, which added more action to the game. I often heard from my friends who completed the first part that " There aren't many monsters in the game" And how surprised I was at the very first level, where we had to run away from necromorphs in a straitjacket, where they were simply quintessence, as if all the monsters from the first part were gathered together and thrown into the very first level of the game. The main character of the game, by the way, remains the protagonist of the first part - Isaac, who probably thought that " stop mowing" under Gordon Freeman and in the second part of the game he spoke, maybe this is due to the fact that his helmet was completely blown off, which is what the horror aspect of the game is based on. But we should not forget about the atmosphere of the first part, which was transferred to this one. What is it worth one of the most dumb moments in the game - return to Ishimura. Seriously, while wandering on board the ship, I listened to every rustle, and for good reason - because, like in the first part, necromorphs had the audacity to appear out of nowhere and unexpectedly. The game is not without epic and fun moments, let us remember at least a ride on the hood of a drilling machine, or extracting information about the Obelisk from the eye. I can’t say anything about the weapon, it was cool, but by the end of the game I preferred tearing off the limbs of necromorphs (I called them - ragulins) and with the help kinesis– throw them at the remaining monsters. It was also fun to watch how Isaac dies in different ways. In my opinion, the second part is made very high quality, and can deservedly be called continuation of a very cool game.

Dead Space: Chapter III.

Let's move on to the third, and currently last, game in the series. To tell the truth, like many, I expected from the third part more, than another third-person shooter, inspired by mass demand for this type of product. Reading reviews and just comments from many people, I realized that most of the fans remained, to put it mildly “ dissatisfied"what the game has become. But it's not all bad. In the third part it became possible to create own weapon , which, you see, has been the dream of many for a very long time. Of course, who didn’t want to make something of their own, a weapon of unprecedented power that could be taken straight from the machine and stomped to the training ground, tested on necromorphs? I wanted something like that, and there were enough goals there. Because if you thought there were a lot of monsters in the second part, guys, wait a minute, you haven't seen the third part yet. Personally, I was very stressed by the fact that when you pass additional task, and you already see yours prize, you understand at the edge of your brain - well it starts now, and at first it’s very satisfying and fun, but when you go through most of the game, you just get tired of killing necromorphs. You see, when your eyes are already dazzled by the number of corpses and severed limbs in a location, while you have little ammunition left, and these bastards keep climbing and climbing, and there is no end to them, you must admit, it’s already starting to infuriate. One of the flaws in the game was that cartridges now the same applies to all types of weapons. You see, there was something funny about how in the second part we carefully treated cartridges for one, strong weapon, saying to themselves “ I won’t use it now, maybe it will be more useful later" And here you can shoot from a machine gun, after which, take out the clip, insert it into the flamethrower and go on to kill countless monsters. This is a little stupid. The game also makes sense to collect relics, because having collected one complete set, unique nodes(upgrade modules) for crafting weapons. The developers’ innovation in the game in the series deserves special attention – co-op mode(or co-op). But if you don’t have a friend at hand, you, guy, will have to go through it yourself. And this is frankly stupid, couldn’t it be possible to do something similar, as in Resident Evil 5 ? Yes, often we get nothing but headaches and hassle from our bot partner. He always gets in the way, wastes an already small amount of ammunition, and generally behaves like such an idiot. But it is in this game that such a bot would be useful. He could help you in difficult situations, make you laugh while staring at some wall, as if trying to “ textures" to see, in the end he could just run around in circles, working as bait, collecting all the necromorphs in the level, and entertain them while you calmly do your thing, ignoring his request for help. But no, instead, after another drawn-out shootout, you catch yourself thinking: “ Damn, where's my partner?"And I also noticed a tendency that if somehow, in the game there is a mention of Shepard from Mass Effect , or what’s worse - the semblance of his armor - that’s all, there’s no point in going through the game, since in the end the hero, for whom we fought our ass to survive, will still die, or his fate will remain unknown.

And in conclusion.

Yes, despite everything, good or bad, that I spun in this article, I couldn’t help but catch myself thinking that I would love to play part 4. Yes, the third part received lower ratings than its two predecessors, but we, the fans, know why. I hope that someday the fourth part will be released. I hope that the main character will be the same simple engineer Isaac Clarke, because we cannot say that he died, which means anything can happen. I hope that the developers will come to their senses and stop falling for the newfangled trend." please everyone", and they will remember their devoted and loyal fans, for whom they once did such cult projects. We hope and wait.

Dead space- this is one of the most scary games in its genre. The creators have published a real masterpiece. At first glance, an awkward overview of the main character makes impossible to pass, but after 10 minutes you get used to it and realize that this is the review you need. It keeps you on your toes all the time. Monsters can attack you from all sides: from above, below, in front, from behind and from the sides. There are peculiar sounds of music that constantly changes its rhythm, foreshadowing danger. It will not always mean that danger is somewhere nearby. This is done so that the player relaxes, thinking that there is no danger. The situation can change dramatically when an alien's organic stake is stuck in the back.

Game Features

  • One of the scariest games for computers in recent times, where the adrenaline is off the charts.
  • Interesting storyline, but very confusing. Key characters constantly change sides, excellent graphics.
  • The ability to shoot off aliens' limbs. This helps in slowing down enemies if there are a lot of them. You can finish off enemies with your hand or pin them down with your foot. If you shoot off a mutant's head, don't relax, he's not dead.
  • New types of mutants are constantly appearing, to which you will have to constantly adapt.
  • Monsters have finishing moves if you are at zero health. You shouldn't make such mistakes.
  • There are self-regenerating monsters that cannot be killed by your weapons. It may only buy you a few seconds.

You soon learn that your lover is on board the station, who committed suicide due to the strange events that happened here. Armament and armor

During your unpleasant journey you will find money and precious metal. The station has shops and workbenches. In stores you will be able to buy new weapons and costumes for more high levels. You will find nodes. With their help you can improve almost everything you have. For this you need a workbench. If this is a weapon, then you can increase the power, rate of fire, reload and magazine capacity. If this is a suit, then health and oxygen supply will be increased. The main instruments available to the main character: IKS - an internal computer built into the suit. It provides communication with the ship. A spacesuit is an armored suit connected to an ICS to display health and oxygen levels on the screen. Stasis is a very useful device that slows down everything around you. When upgraded, the radius and duration of action increases. Kinesis is a device for lazy people. It allows you to attract objects from a distance.

23. Alice: Madness Returns

Alice: The Madness Returns , developed by Spicy Horse, is a rare example of a video game that combines multiple genres, namely psychological horror, action and adventure. It is a direct continuation of the story that began in American McGee's Alice. The main character, orphaned Alice Liddell, often runs away into the world created by her imagination, first to cope with the emotional trauma of losing loved ones, and then to unravel the mystery of their death.

To overcome obstacles in the game, the mechanics of running, jumping and rolling, common to platformers, are used. There are also many different puzzles and battles where you need to be able to anticipate the enemy’s attack. One of the classic elements of a platform game is the step-by-step passage of levels. For example, in order to unlock some locations you will need keys, and to overcome obstacles you will also need special skills. Most tasks require either a combination of several skills, or upgrading existing ones.

Many horror elements appear in visual effects games. For example, Wonderland turning into a twisted version of itself reflects Alice's depressed emotional state. As for the environment and characters, they are based on real events from the life of the main character. Many key locations will change radically as the line between reality and fantasy blurs. Thanks to its use of horror style, Alice: The Madness Returns is a worthy successor to the original game.

Science fiction with Isaac Clarke leading role continues. Dead Space has already acquired two great games, several anime backstories and a bunch of comics. And now, a new game has been released, Dead Space 3, which takes the series to an even cooler level. Don't miss it under any circumstances Dead trailer Space 3. And most importantly, here is a complete review.

Dead Space 3

Developer: Visceral Games Genre: 3rd person action-horror Platforms: PC, PS3, Xbox 360 Release date: February 5, 2013 Official website: http://www.deadspace.com Similar games: Dead Space, Dead Space 2, Lost Planet

The same people were responsible for the development of the third part Visceral Games who, although they don’t create masterpieces, know their stuff. In the second part Dead Space they corrected everything that irritated in the original: empty scenery, crooked action, not the most convenient controls... And in general, they turned Isaac Clarke into a death machine, which, like a combine harvester, mows down hundreds of necromorphs on the way to solving visions and terrible events, associated with the mysterious Obelisk.

The third part, as expected, not only retained the spirit of the sequel, but also really offered a lot of new things. For example, don’t be alarmed when you find out that not much remains of the horror - mostly just dark corridors drenched in blood and necromorphs of new modifications suddenly jumping out.

I must say that the trailers were deceiving: I thought that the third part would most resemble Lost Planet, and it’s clear why. Footage from a snow-covered planet was shown everywhere, where Isaac, in a bulky suit, fought against huge cockroaches. Yes, there are severe frosts, and this is where the game begins.

But it turns out that all this is just a small part of what was actually offered Visceral Games this time. Having overcome the long introduction, you realize that only by the third part "Dead Space" has developed into a full-fledged science fiction story, where there is a place not only for mutants and corridors space stations, but also to human factors. Here are the experiences of the main character, and his missing girlfriend, and new acquaintances, and human opponents from an organization of crazy people who are still trying to promote a new religion based on hallucinations from the Obelisk.

In no case will I reveal details regarding the development of the scenario, I will only say that every twenty minutes the game necessarily offers something new. These are no longer monotonous wanderings along similar corridors. Here you have action in the spirit of Hollywood on the surface of the planet, horror indoors, and cool moments in zero gravity, when you can enjoy the view of outer space even in moments of danger for Isaac.

Dead Space 3 right away it makes the most pleasant impression: it is clear that the authors tried not only to exploit old ideas, but also diversified the gameplay to the maximum. Here in places the action even resembles Mass Effect 3, no joke! But this is still more of a compliment than a reproach for plagiarism. And there is no need to say that by the third part, both of them were turned into stupid shooters with shelters.

Just try to replay the first parts of both the first and second series and compare with the sensations that the threequels give - then all the quibbles will immediately disappear by themselves! Gameplay is based on the same things: it's shooting necromorphs and bad guys with a 3rd person view. At the easy level, the supply of ammunition and first aid kits is almost endless, at the hard level you will have to suffer, because the mutants run and jump very quickly, and without “pumped up” equipment the main character is constantly at risk of being severely crippled.

Similarities with previous parts

There are still cool episodes where you need to use stasis and a magnetic device: either move cars, or slow down enemies or some kind of contraption on your way. Moreover, all this was done at a completely new level. Not like in the original, when it was necessary to “slow down” a jammed door. No, now, as they like to say now, the game has acquired an epic scale.

It seems that all this was already in the second part, but in the third it was bigger and better. The old proven formula works, both in blockbuster movies and in games. That's right: you don't need to look for any depths or revelations in this game. The horror has become a little less, but, firstly, it is no longer possible to scare people three times in a row with necromorphs and the Obelisk. This means we are increasing the concentration of action and mind-blowing scenes!

And secondly, crushing halves of necromorphs with heavy boots and cutting off their nasty limbs with surgical precision is still a lot of fun. Blood flows like a river, previously unseen monsters crawl onto the stage, the player learns new secrets regarding this whole mess with the Obelisk, and so on.

Plus, if it’s already boring to go through all this alone, please - here’s a cooperative mode, playing with a partner is even more fun! And it’s not so scary (well, this is for the especially impressionable). Well, what Dead Space 3 sometimes it reminds me a lot Lost Planet, so this is only praise. Thank God it's not the second part LP. And new game quite a lot of new things compared to the second part. True, there is nothing fundamentally new, although as you progress you will definitely come across moments that you cannot remember in any other game...

Conclusion:

And there is no point in talking for a long time about the plot mysteries, what ultimately happened to Isaac. IN Dead Space 3 you just need to play and enjoy it like watching a long sci-fi Hollywood thriller. Don’t listen to those who say that the series has been turned into a shooter, of course it is, but only partly.

By the way, we can also say about graphics and sound: if you turn everything up to maximum and with good acoustics, the game will never disappoint! Play and draw your own conclusion. On my own behalf, I’ll add that I liked the third part less than the previous ones (simply due to the fact that everything was already boring), but as a threequel, it’s quite good. Leave your impressions and expectations from the further development of the series in the comments below.

Advantages Long duration Interesting characters and cut-scenes A couple of new types of enemies Added holographic puzzles and crafting Improved picture and more better sound Disadvantages No more nightmare atmosphere Few innovations A lot of similarities at the end with other series Monotonous tasks Few interesting “bosses”

Personal note:

Everything is very predictable, the third part from beginning to end is the way you imagine it. EA does everything the same, with rare exceptions. And since the performance is very good, there is no point in regretting the time spent on the game.
